The weather in Durban, South Africa cleared up enough for the field to complete the round that was started and rained out yesterday. Goosen had two bogies and two eagles in his round to get to his round of 64. Ernie Els, always a South African favorite is close to the leaders at -7. He could have been in the lead as he squandered a few opportunities on the greens on the front nine.
Most of the leaders favored 3-Woods and 3-Irons off of the tees in an effort to stay out of trouble. The play today was all about controlling risk and keeping the ball in play to take advantage of any opportunities. The second round will be played on Saturday and the cut will set the field at 50 players. The tournament will end with a round of 36 holes to be played on Sunday provided the weather continues to hold out.
