I am experiencing this behavior as well. When I clean cache system says that I am not logged in. So I navigate back to the facebook.com and log in as my self. Then when I get to the second step of the setup I get again "An error occurred while registering your site" This is the break down of the steps.

1. Clear our cache
2. go to
3. Fill up all of the information
4. Click Next Step
5. Upload file to the server
6. Click "Test Setup and continue"
7. Get the error: An error occurred while registering your site

Thanks for the post, I really need to get this working, and would truly appreciate your help.
