Hi everybody and thanks for the post.

I've just added meebo on our blog and forum and . I've seen indeed meebo a while ago on mashable and was pretty annoyed by it as it did slowed not only the loading but specially the rendering of the page, to the extent that it made it unreadable on my netbook...

Then I heard about meebo booming and thought of giving it a try: it seems to me they've been optimizing things like hell and all the javascript is now loaded instantly and rendered very smoothly even on my netbook, but I didn't run any serious speed tests yet...
So, everyone out there with a fresh look on the latest meebo toolbar?

Thanks! :-)

Hi Paul - no idea as to why Mashable removed Meebo, but my guess is that they Meebo toolbar probably slowed down their site. Too many html instances to load causing their site load time to decrease. With the importance of speed that Google is now putting on website rankings, it wouldn't surprise me if this is why Mashable ejected the Meebo toolbar.
