New Orleans Saints defeat the Atlanta Falcons 17 to 14

The Saints and the Falcons played an even and exciting game in Monday night football.  The Falcons defense did a great job of hold the Saints early.  The Falcons offense had only 5 turnovers all season.  However, tonight they turned the ball over 2 times. It was also the Falcons defense that scored with a pick six late in the fourth quarter to give the falcons a late lead, but the Saints came back to score and managed to control the ball for most of the fourth quarter and keep the ball out of the hands of the fourth quarter magician, Matt Ryan.  This loss to the saints was only Ryan’s second loss in the Georgia Dome since he became the starting quarterback for the Falcons.  Ryan’s record in the Georgia Dome is now 19 – 2.

The Saints have now secured a spot in the playoffs and they have an opportunity to get to “The Show” and defend their Super Bowl title.  Perhaps these two teams will be able to replay this game in the Super Bowl in Dallas.  The Falcons can still secure home field advantage during the playoffs by winning their next game.
