Microsoft has conducted research that concluded 90% of people seek advice from friends and family before making a decision and a further 80% delay decisions until their friends have given their approval. Using this data Microsoft has joined forces wit Facebook to leverage these relationships with the results generated through the Bing search engine. If you are logged into Facebook and you enter a search for car tires then in the search results you will see the names and sometime the profile picture of your friends who have clicked the like button on an item related to your search. This is just one example of how Microsoft is looking to change the way in which we search the Internet.
