Firstly, Apple isn’t ready to dwindle its price. HomePod will cost around $350, whereas you can buy a beginner-level Amazon Echo for $50. Amazon’s cheap smart assistant can basically do all the stuff a user could expect from a smart speaker. Of course, HomePod has some shiny, innovative features like scanning your room to configure the sound to the perfect frequency, but again, these are some a few features Apple rolls out in its devices to justify its outlandish prices.

Amazon Echo is better than Apple HomePod because it is far more flexible. You could link Amazon Echo with various smart home devices. You can even pair and integrate it with your car. Apple HomePod offers less flexibility, thanks to the closed ecosystem approach of Apple.

Last month, several notable sources leaked OnePlus 5 specs and features online. Upload Videos from Camera Roll to Snapchat Stories

Snapchat memories is the best way to upload videos directly from camera roll to Snapchat stories.

Launch camera screen and swipe to left to open Memories. You can also open Memories by tapping on the circle beneath the Capture button.

On top of the memories tab, use the “Camera Roll” option. This option will give you access to photos and videos saved in your camera roll.

Snapchat will ask your permission to access stuff in your camera roll.

Select any video or photo you want to upload as a story. Tap Edit & Send at the bottom of the screen.

However, it’s important to note that you cannot upload videos from camera roll that are longer than 10 seconds.

Chat is where you could start conversations with people, add emojis and find different options like sending files.

But Skype Snapchat redesign is based on the new feature called “Capture”.  Capture makes Skype just like Snapchat. There is a big button using which you could turn on the camera and take your pictures. You can hold down this button for capturing videos.  When you press the button to take videos, you’ll see a wavy line which acts as a bar showing duration of the video.

You can also add emojis, stickers, text and doodles on your videos and photos in Skype.

Perhaps the biggest feature in the redesigned Skype app is “Highlights”. Highlights is just like Snapchat stories. In Highlights, you can post photos and videos as a stream, and your friends could go through them and react with emoticons.

Skype is also redesigning its calling interface. You can now drag and drop contacts to add or remove them from group calls. People could easily interact with each other using emoticons during calls.

This is the last ditch effort by Microsoft to revitalize Skype. The company wants to make Skype a mainstream app for video messaging and mobile communication. It tried its luck with Skype Qik, and failed badly. Skype Qik was closed down forever by Microsoft in March.

Essential does not have any headphone jack, which means Andy Rubin at least agrees with Apple when it comes to headphone jacks.

Apple is coming to terms with the hard market reality that the smartphone market has already reached its saturation point. The future belongs to Augmented Reality, IoT, Self-Driving cars. AI is the centerpiece of these technologies. Apple is also investing heavily in these areas. This is perhaps the biggest ransomware attack recorded in history. Cyber security experts had been cautioning the governments around the world to beware and ready for such hacks.

City services in London, Nottingham, and the counties of Hertfordshire and Cumbria are affected by the latest ransomware attack, the source of which is still unknown.

Experts are calling the latest cyberattack “WannaCry”, or WanaCrypt0r and WCry. This malware infection spreads quickly because it stems from a Windows vulnerability known as EternalBlue that allegedly originated with the NSA. In March, Microsoft released an exploit to patch this exploit, known as MS17-010. But it appears hackers were quicker that the sloppy governments around the world.

Adam Kujawa, director of malware intelligence at Malwarebytes says that he hasn’t seen anything like this.  “The spread is immense. This is nuts,” says Kujawa.

Apple devices have only one layer of display screens to arrange your apps on and if you have apps that are rather dummy icons than oft-used apps, there is no easy way to hide them. Well, at least there was no easy way until iOS 7, which allowed a nesting solution so you might create folders for collecting a family of apps together. It however was not such a user friendly feature and required more effort than ease.

With iOS 9 however, things are far better in this regard. Now you can easily nest folders inside each other and create your own hierarchy of apps contained in folders; here is how.

Positioning the Parent Folder

Place the folder on your home screen, i.e., on the first page. For convenience, position it such that it should be the right top most item on your home screen. Now it is ready to take other folders in as sub-folders.

Positioning the Child (Inner) Folder

Bring the folder that you’d like to nest inside the parent folder on the same home screen where you placed the parent folder. You can Place it anywhere on the screen.

Home Screen Editing Mode

To bring the home screen into editing mode to be able to allow movements of apps, press and hold a screen item (app/folder). It will cause the apps to wiggle at their positions, indicating that the apps are ready to be rearranged.

Moving the Folder Inside

Facebook has been hinting to launch some kind of a ‘dislike’ button since last month. It has now been announced that users on Facebook will be able to respond in more ways to a post other than only ‘liking it’. The new feature is being called ‘Reactions’ instead of ‘dislike’ because it is a pack of expressions rather than a single button, giving you the option to choose among six other emoticons added to already available ‘Like’ button.

The reason behind creating such a pack of expression is to allow people to be able to express more in accordance to the post which may not always be something to ‘Like’; e.g., a post expressing a grief or sad news. So adding only a ‘dislike’ button was not a solution and probably not what the users wanted.

The ‘expressions’ can be popped up by long pressing the ‘Like’ button. The six added expression cartoons (love,haha, Yay, Wow, Sad and Angry) are animated and the post will now give count for each of these expressions received from the friends and followers.

The update is a welcome one as users have been expecting from Facebook to give more ways to exhibit their response to posts; and by giving a range of emoticons to choose from it has rightly met the expectations.  Currently the feature has been launched only in Spain and Ireland as a test launch, which will subsequently be rolled out for everyone soon enough.

Photo upload has been one feature which has constantly been updated by Facebook; thanks to the ever growing competition between photo sharing apps and social media platforms. Facebook’s Save option will be available with every story, in the form of a little bookmark type button. You can also save a link by tapping the little drop down option. All the saved links will be accessible from the “More” options menu on the mobile and the left side detailed options pane for the web.

Just launch Facebook messenger app and tap the ‘More’ icon from the middle right corner of the chat screen.

You will see a list of apps which allows sending GIFs in Facebook Messenger. Imgur is now in this list. Tap Imgur, and you will see different categories like “Happy”, “Angry”, Nope”. You can tap any category, see and choose thousands of GIFs. You can also put a keyword in the search bar above to search the GIFs. Google has launched a new feature which will let you unsend a sent mail if you have second thoughts about the mail you just sent. You will have around 5-30 seconds to undo a sent email. This feature is now live for Gmail app in Android, and the search engine giant says that soon it will be available for Gmail web.

The Undo send feature was already there for Google Labs, but it is now available for “Inbox” app of Gmail in Android. You can also turn on this feature by going to the Settings page within Gmail and navigate to the General tab. Here, you will see “Enable Undo Send” option.  You will have the option to choose between different time options under which you could take back the sent email. You have 5, 10, 20 and 30 seconds time windows. If you want to use this feature, choosing the maximum time windows, which is 30 seconds in this case, would be the best option.

If you are not seeing this option when you go to settings, don’t worry; Google says that the new unsend email feature will start rolling out within this week for all Android and web users.

On July 29, Windows 10 will be available to install or upgrade for PC, laptops and tablets. All the devices running official Windows 8.1 will be upgraded. The devices which will be shipped after the official launch of Windows 10 will have pre-installed Windows 10.

The 15 inch MacBook with Retina display also got a new PCIe-based flash storage, which will double the memory performance as compared to the previous model.

The new iMac starts from $1,999. It also has a retina display, 3.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, AMD Radeon R9 M290 graphics card. With 8GB of RAM and 1TB base storage, iMac is got the perfect changes.

The new MacBook also got improved GPU, which was demanded by thousands of users.

The refreshed models of MacBook and iMac are now available from the Apple store.
