Falling Iguanas Possible Tonight

We can clearly see from the NWS Miami tweet:

“This isn’t something we usually forecast, but don’t be surprised if you see Iguanas falling from the trees tonight as lows drop into the 30s and 40s. Brrrr!”

As most of the people in Florida can experience, falling iguanas are really disturbing. This phenomenon happens only because iguanas are not comfortable at such low temperatures. Therefore, a sudden drop in temperature is stunning an invasive reptile which make them fall off of trees.

However, this doesn’t mean that the iguanas are dead, no! This means that iguanas are only stunned as they can’t move freely. Once their legs experience a deep freeze, they start falling from trees like rain. In most cases, iguanas will revive once the temperature is up during the day.

Is it dangerous?

Well, considering the fact that male iguanas are approximately 5 feet long and 20 pounds, yes! Simply, his can be quite dangerous. As for the female iguanas, they are able to lay more than 80 eggs during a year. And, South Florida’s warm temperature area is perfect for their growth and habitat.

However, people should start to look where they are going as they can run over these creatures. Also, it’s not comfortable to get this kind of reptile to fall on your head. Therefore, make sure to check trees for iguanas as they can fall.

Are iguanas dangerous?

As we all know, iguanas are even kept as pets in Florida, especially more southern areas. The anti-cruelty to animals law protect them from any harm. Therefore, iguanas are not that dangerous and definitely not aggressive kinds of animals. Not to humans at least…

Namely, these reptiles are native to Central America, some tropical parts of South America, and on the Caribbean Islands, where they originate from. Also, They are not dangerous to humans, but they can damage sidewalks, seawalls, and other parts of the city. Luckily, Pizza Hut Chef,  Alonia Hawk, spotted the message “Please help. Get 911 to me” on the order receipt. He quickly checked the details of the order and found out that the order is coming from a regular customer. Hawk called 911 immediately.

According to a statement released by Florida PD, the chief negotiator, Lt. Curtis Ludden, was dispatched with a team. Initially, Nickerson didn’t open the door, but Ludden managed to talk him through this. Nickerson, 26, was immediately nabbed and the hostage situation came to an end.

Hinch says that he was highly upset with his sloppy computer. Hinch runs a tea business named ‘Organica Herb’ in Colorado. He used to store all the business information, customer data in his computer. But for a few days, the computer was acting weird.

Hinch says that today, his computer showed ‘that blue screen of death’ and he just ‘had it’. Hinch took his computer to an alley near 2200 block of West Colorado Avenue., took out his handgun and fired 8 shots directly at it. The local police quickly alerted with the ‘shots fired’ call. As you can see the passenger was extremely sexist and hurtful to the pilot.  After all the years she has been a pilot mainly received complements.  Here’s what she had to say on her Twitter account:

Webster Lucas was unhappy with his local McDonald’s in Pacoima, CA after he received just one napkin. When he asked for more, Lucas claims he was denied. That did not sit well with Lucas, who told the manager on duty, “I should have went to eat at the Jack-in-the-Box because I didn’t come here to argue over napkins. I came here to eat.” According to Lucas, who is African American, the manager then made a racially-motivated remark, allegedly saying something about “you people.” (The manager is reportedly Latino.)

Is this guy serious?  He really thinks he has a case here?  What is this world coming to?  How could this even come across someones mind?

Normally I’m a fan of plain old traditional Oreo’s. No, not double stuffed, not mint flavored not strawberry, or whatever flavors they have.  However, I might have to change that thought after hearing about these new flavors Oreo is releasing: Marshmallow Crispy (like Rice Krispies Treats) and Cookie Dough.  I would love to try the Cookie Dough one, but I could do without the Rice Krispies Treats one.  What do you think?

We all thought exorcism and witchcraft was something in the movies or that happened a long time ago, like the Lizzie Borden case.  Unfortunately someone attempted exorcism on their children and the result was the death of two children.  Two women have been charged with murder Friday, Monifa Denise Sanford and Zakieya Latrice.

Two women have been charged in the recent stabbing deaths of two young children at a Germantown townhouse — in what Montgomery County police said was an attempt at an exorcism.

The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said 1-year-old Norell N. Harris and 2-year-old Zyana Z. Harris suffered multiple stab wounds in Friday’s incident. Two other children, Taniya Harris, 5, and Martello Harris, 8, remained hospitalized, police said.

“Cases like this are heartbreaking,” county police chief Tom Manger said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims along with the 911 operators, police officers, evidence technicians, and fire and EMS personnel that responded.”

What a sick and twisted thing these two have done.  Reports say they truly believed they were performing an exorcism.

On his Facebook page, people have posted threats to find and kill him.

“I have friends who live in the area and will have you in their sights also,” one user wrote.

He has defended his hunt by insisting it was meant to help the black rhino.  The plan was to hunt an old, non-breeding male that was endangering the rest of the herd.

“I’m a hunter,” he added. “I want to experience a black rhino. I want to be intimately involved with a black rhino. If I go over there and shoot it or not shoot it, it’s beyond the point.”

Knowlton said that the money from the auction would go towards effort to support rhino conservation.

On his Facebook page, he wrote: “I am considering all sides and concerns involved in this unique situation. Please don’t rush to judgment with emotionally driven criticism towards individuals on either side of this issue.

“I deeply care about all of the inhabitants of this planet and I am looking forward to more educated discussion regarding the ongoing conservation effort for the Black Rhino.”

I don’t know if he’ll ever get anyone to agree with him hunting a black rhino, maybe some hunters, but the majority of us think it’s outrageous.  I would never consider hunting an endangered animal and I sure wouldn’t take the chance of being hunted myself!

Flammable over-the-counter wart removers have started fires, inuring at least 10 people according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

How can a wart remover catch on fire?  Well, the mixture is highly flammable and when you mix that with a flame source, like candle, it’s never a good thing.

Ten people have suffered singed hair, blisters, burns or skin redness, the agency said.

“The labeling for these products clearly states that they are flammable and should be kept away from fire, flame, heat sources and cigarettes,” FDA nurse consultant Karen Nast said in an agency news release.

“This is extremely concerning, especially because people may not be aware that everyday household items like curling irons and straight irons can be hot enough to be an ignition source for these products,” Nast said.

In the incidents reported to the FDA, the wart remover dispenser generally caught fire when it was releasing the mixture, the agency said.

Nast said that even though the FDA has received only 14 reports of fires linked to cryogenic treatments, such occurrences are often under-reported. She urged consumers to tell the FDA about similar experiences. “It’s important for us to know when and how problems like this happen,” she said.

If you’re thinking about using a cryogenic wart remover, just stay away from flames and be in a well ventilated area.  Of course, there are other options as well, like seeing a wart specialist to remove the warts with a number of different techniques including: liquid-nitrogen, laser, or surgical paring

A Seattle teenager was lying on her couch when gunfire from a gang erupted outside of her residence on Saturday night.  Authorities say a stray bullet struck the bridge of her glasses and deflected a bullet away.  One fraction of an inch in any other direction could have killed the 16-year old.  No one else was hurt and police believe the girl was not the intended victim.  How’s that for luck?!

This is one of those WTF stories. Over the weekend a man saved a Greenland shark when he noticed the shark “panting” and coming very close to shore.  Naturally he thought it was a whale beaching itself, but then when he looked again he noticed it was a shark choking on his prey.  The man walked into the ice cold water with another man who just happened to be walking by to save the shark.  The shark was found to have moose hide coming out of hims mouth, which got stuck in the shark’s throat.  The two men tugged on the hide and ripped it free from the 9-foot shark.  It took a few minutes for the shark to rebound after almost suffocating and then headed off into open waters.

For one, this is such an odd thing to happen, especially considering the Greenland shark is a rare sight, but two men risking their lives for it is even crazier.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is the king of the internet, at least for today that is.  Jean-Claude is seen first with the camera focused on his face for this Volvo truck commercial, then as the camera pans away you can see he’s in between two trucks doing a split.  He then does a full split as the camera rotates around the trucks, all while they are moving by the way.  Of course, most was computer animated except for his actual split and was performed in a controlled environment.

Well, the infamous Brazilian Wandering Spider definitely lives after it’s name.  Consi Taylor spotted the spiders after bringing them home from a supermarket.  She thought the bananas were bruised at first, then noticed it was a bunch of small, baby spiders crawling around.  She also noticed a white nest at the bottom of the bananas. The wandering spider is one of the top 5 deadliest spiders in Latin America.

“I screamed, it was horrible,” she told the Daily Mail. “I’m scared of spiders anyway so I had to get a friend to come round to hoover them up. Then we cleaned the floor with anti-bacterial wipes.”  The spider can get as big as six inches!

Taylor and her husband spent three nights in a hotel with their two young children while their house was fumigated and deep-cleaned.

It’s a good thing they noticed the spiders when they did, because who knows how many could have hidden in the house.

A baby girl in Pennsylvania came close to beating J.J., weighing 13 pounds, 12 ounces, KSL.com reported. But the title of heaviest baby in the world seems to belong to a baby named George King in England, who was born at 15 pounds, 7 ounces, the Daily Mail reported.

WildCat is a four-legged robot being developed to run fast on all types of terrain. So far WildCat has run at about 16 mph on flat terrain using bounding and galloping gaits.

This thing is intense!  Imagine what it will look like when they can compact the design and make it look like an actual Cheetah (partially serious).

This absolutely insane video of a cliff jumper landing flat on the water went viral the past few days.  No one knows the real story about how the jumper made out after the terrifying splash.  Some say there were no deaths reported that weekend at Kalamalka cliff, however some are saying there is no way you could survive a jump this high.  What do you think?  We hope he is OK.
