Maureen O’Hara, the Hollywood screen icon, turned 90 years old yesterday. Her family and friends held a special birthday party for her in her home and continuous stream of well wishes came from both callers and messages. She was surrounded by family and friends, including her daughter Bronwyn and nephew Andrew in Blair’s Cove, Durrus, where she was greeted by St Michael’s Bandon Pipe Band.

People are going crazy in their search for Zsa Zsa Gabor. News is being reported from CNN that Zsa Zsa Gabor has fallen from her bed and broke her hip.

The story is that Zsa Zsa was lying in bed late Saturday night when her phone rang. Then, as she reached for her phone she fell out of bed and landed directly on her hip.

A call was placed to 911 and Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles where she is expected to undergo surgery later today.

Here it is folks, a new trend coming out of Hollywood that I’m sure is going to catch on like wildfire – Tori Spelling just launched a Twitter profile for her 3 year old Liam McDermott (check out LiamsWorld).

What is this 3 year old’s Twitter profile all about, you ask?  Here’s the description from the profile:

And that’s it – Tori Spelling is simply writing down the interesting things that her 3 year old son says and does.

I actually like the idea. My 3 year old (who just turned 4) says some pretty funny stuff that is definitely worth tweeting out into cyberspace.

Come to think of it, I have a 2 year old as well who is starting to say some pretty fun things, and maybe even a Twitter profile for her would be fun.

Anyway, Liam’s Twitter profile is about a week old and already he has over 14,000 followers.

Wow, Carrie Underwood does not mess around when it comes to her wedding. And more specifically, to the wedding guests that have been invited.

What am I talking about here?

Well, how about Carrie Underwood booking an entire hotel for her wedding! This includes the first night for her and her new husband to spend in the hotel’s presidential suite complete with private pool, 4 master suites, and who knows what else.

Also, Carrie Underwood has supposedly struck a deal with a weekly magazine to take the photos of the wedding, and to offer the photo rights.

Guests are scheduled to start arriving at the hotel on July 7th.

Carrie Underwood’s wedding is officially scheduled for Saturday, July 10th, 2010.

It’s not easy being a Hollywood super star these days, especially with the internet facilitating the spreading of information. And Lindsay Lohan is just now starting to realize the downside to the internet as searches for her jail sentence are sky rocketing as we speak.

Apparently the judge is sick and tired of Lindsay Lohan not taking her DUI rehab seriously, and so the judge dropped a heavy sentence on Lohan.

90 days total in jail – 30 days each for 3 separate violiations.

So now people are searching the web frantically for the Lindsay Lohan court video.

JaMarcus Russell, the former Oakland Raiders number 1 draft pick in the 2007 NFL draft, was arrested today in Mobile, Alabama and charged with possession of a drug called codeine syrup.

Codeine syrup is a controlled substance and requires a subscription for users to have possession. A sheriff’s spokeswoman released a statement today stating that JaMarcus Russell, 24, was arrested today at his home in Mobile, Alabama during an undercover investigation.

JaMarcus Russell was booked into the Mobile jail and then later released on a $2500 bond.

What is codeine syrup?

Codeine syrup is a controlled substance used for medicine, but is also sold in the black market because you get high from it. You can legally have it if you have a prescription, but it seems JaMarcus Russell didn’t have one!

This of course does not bode well for ol’ JaMarcus Russell.

The NFL will be coming down hard on Russell obviously with fines, but also possible suspensions.

It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds this week.

There’s nothing better than a good Hollywood gossip story to accompany your Sunday evening (not…). And for some reason the web has become fascinated with the Amanda Bynes story.

As you may, or may not, know – Amanda Bynes is a 24 year old actress with the entire world literally at her feet and very bright future ahead of her in acting.

However, Amanda Bynes has announced via her Twitter profile that she is  that she’s quit acting to pursue other endeavors.

“I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been a part of,” the 24-year-old former actress writes.

“I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play. Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. If I don’t love something anymore I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it.”

Amanda Bynes continues in her Twitter profile,  “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve #retired.”

John Travolta, still morning the loss of his son tragically in the Bahamas over a year ago, is now facing another tragic loss in his family. This time, John Travolta has lost his 2 dogs.

In a statement released to the Bangor Daily News, the city of Bangor said, “An airport service pickup truck was approaching the airplane to service the airplane and did not see the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed. The airport is investigating the accident. Out of respect for the family’s privacy the city will make no further comment.”

The newspaper also reported that the family was headed to their home in Islesboro, Maine, and that it was not known whether the actor had piloted the plane.

This is now the 2nd tragic loss that John Travolta has experienced in less than 2 years.  In January 2009, the Travolta’s 16-year-old son, Jett, died after suffering a seizure while vacationing with family in the Bahamas. Travolta and Preston have one other child.

The airport where the John Travolta’s dogs were killed made the following statement:

“The airport takes safety very seriously,” Hupp said Monday afternoon. “Many flights come and go without incidents. Clearly, this is an unfortunate accident. Our deepest sympathies are with the family.”

Leonardo DiCaprio Girlfriend, DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli Marriage?

Rumors are spreading on the web about Leonardo DeCaprio and his girlfriend Bar Rafaeli getting married. These rumors were spawned from a simple siting of the two at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game.

However, when Bar Rafaeli has been questioned about the marriage rumors with Leonardo DeCaprio she has responded with absolutely not.

Bar recently denied the marriage rumors and her ring finger was bare at the game, so we’re not sure what the big deal is.

Bar told the press, “I’m 24 and there’s still time [for marriage]. I’m in no hurry. I’m happy with where I am.”

To be quite honest, I didn’t even know that Leonardo DiCaprio even had a girlfriend, let alone there were rumors about them getting married. I mean really… who has the time to worry about such things as Leonardo DiCaprio and girlfriend getting married rumors!

Apparently I have enough time to write about it… :-)

Rumors are that Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne are dating and that their relationship is apparently moving to the next level as they have reportedly received matching tattoos.

Oh yeah, I love the matching tattoos as an expression of a relationship moving to the next level!

In a bizarre headline that is just now breaking out on the web – tv show “Bachelor” winner Shayne Lamas got married in Las Vegas to Nik Richie after meeting him less than 24 hours earlier.

But I sometimes think that Dancing With The Stars is more popular on the following day because millions of people start searching for “who got eliminated from Dancing With The Stars?”

On “Dancing with the Stars“ elimination April 13, Aiden Turner with Edyta Sliwinska reached the bottom two along with Niecy Nash and her partner Louis Van Amstel.

At the end Aiden Turner was declared the person voted out of the show.

The couple received only 33 out of 60 points on Monday by the Dancing With The Starts judges, and that was one of the lowest scores on the episode.

It seems that with each and every passing episode the competition is become more and more tough.

Designing Women Video (Dixie Carter Tribute)

News is breaking on the web that Designing Women’s star Dixie Carter has passed away at the age of 70.

Dixie Carter was certainly best known for her role on Designing Women but also became popular on the TV series Desperate Housewives.

Dixie Carter’s family is requesting their privacy as they morn the tremendous loss.

The cause of death has not yet been released to the public (as of this writing).
