Most of the users are sick and tired of hundreds and thousands of tweets, promotions, ads and retweets on Twitter. The curating on Twitter is sloppy and most of the time, the main, information-worthy content gets lost under the huge piles of the useless content.

Twitter has already a feature called ‘while you were away’, which shows you the important tweets. But the new feature will help the users to get updated in an easy way.

Twitter announced this feature in a blog post.You can enable the Highlights feature right now.

Go to Settings and tap on your own account name (this can be done by tapping the 3 dot icon).

Tap on the mobile notifications section and you will see a new ‘Highlights’ feature. Check its box and the new feature will be enabled for your Twitter account.

In a document that leaked through the FCC’s website last week, apparently AT&T has not be completely honest about their intents on merging with T-Mobile.  According to AT&T’s entire campaign up to this point with law makers and investors, the reason AT&T wanted to merge with T-Mobile was to help AT&T expand their LTE network from 87% coverage in the U.S. to 97% coverage.  Only problem is, the amount of money it would cost AT&T to acquire T-Mobile ($39 billion) is a whole lot more than the $3.2 billion needed for AT&T to build out to 97% on their own.  This raises all kinds of red flags and points directly to the real intent behind AT&T wanting to acquire T-Mobile.  At the end of the day, AT&T wants to eliminate T-Mobile from the competitive landscape.  AT&T doesn’t want, or need, T-Mobile’s LTE network.  AT&T could actually build out to 97% LTE capacity without for about 10% of what it would cost to acquire T-Mobile.  Sounds like AT&T has some explaining to do to law makers and investors.

AT&T has finally humbled itself and admitted that the iPhone simply overwhelmed their data capacity from 2007 thru 2010. And they said that the problem is only going to get worse as more consumers purchase and use smartphones and tablets.

AT&T admitted their shortcomings in a new filing explaining it’s intent to purchase T-Mobile. Their statement is summarized by them saying, simply, their network wasn’t ready for the iPhone, and won’t be able to handle the new smartphones and tablets that hit their networks.

In the filing, AT&T is quotes as saying a smartphone generates 24 times the mobile data traffic of a conventional wireless phone, and the explosively popular iPad and similar tablet devices can generate traffic comparable to or even greater than a smartphone.

According to the filing, AT&T’s mobile data volume exploded by a whopping 8,000% from 2007 to 2010.

And they claim that by 2015, their network will consume more data in the first five to seven weeks of that year it did in all of 2010.

AT&T announced today that it will buy T-Mobile from Deutche Telekom for $39 billion in both cash and stock.  This is one of the biggest mergers in the United States since the beginning of the financial crisis.  Not will this deal dramatically boost AT&T’s 4G expansion efforts, but it will add an additional 46.5 million customers to the telecom giant. On top of the custom base and the 4G, T-Mobile was one of the leading telecoms to carry Android smartphones, which will now help contribute directly to AT&T’s bottom line.

It’s official, the T-Mobile G-2 Android phone is now available on T-Mobile’s website.  The new G2 Android phone is designed to utilize T-Mobile’s new 4G capabilities and features full access to the Google Android Market and the new Voice Actions from Google which allows full voice control of nearly all features of your mobile phone. The G2 Android phone is T-Mobile’s first ever 4G enabled phone that will run on their HSPA+ network. The T-Mobile G2 is replacing the  T-Mobile G1 which was the first ever Android mobile phone to hit the market nearly 2 years ago. On July 27th, T-Mobile said good-bye to the G1, obviously making room for the G2.

You can buy the G2 Android phone now for $199 with a new 2 year contract with T-Mobile. Otherwise, the G2 Android phone will cost $499.

Word on the street is that T-Mobile will begin selling Windows Phone 7 mobile phones along side of AT&T. Microsoft would now have two major US carriers on board ready to sell their Windows Phone 7 mobile phones. The Windows Phone 7 mobile phone that’s coming to T-Mobile is said to be a device manufactured by HTC, and that the device is more “business oriented”. Microsoft’s share of the mobile phone market has decreased recently to only 5.5%, and dropping quickly. According to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, the company has missed one whole cycle in mobile phones. The announcement for the new Windows Phone 7 enabled mobile phones is expected next Monday as Ballmer hosts a Microsoft & AT&T press confere

Today, Verizon will be launching a new service called Mobile Recovery. This is a free add on feature for any Verizon customers that already subscribes to the Total Equipment Coverage (TEC) plan. Phones that are able to use Mobile Recovery are Android, Windows Mobile, webOS, or BlackBerry devices.

Among other cool features, Mobile Recovery will allow you to locate your lost (or stolen) phone via GPS!

That’s right… you’ll now be able to see exactly where your mobile phone is on something like Google Maps.

Here’s some other features:

• Device location using GPS
• Sound alarms
• Remote device lock
• Remote device wipe

Verizon customers can visit MyMobileRecovery.com to download the Mobile Recovery application, or text getmr to 6967 for download instructions.

WalMart is moving aggressively into the wireless plan market with their own WalMart branded voice and talk plan. The plan will be called Walmart Family Mobile, and will be offered in all Wal Mart Stores starting next week.

WalMart is not new to the wireless plan market. For a long time now WalMart has offered pre-paid voice and text wireless plans. The plans currently offered by WalMart are Common Cents, which operates on the Sprint network, and Straight Talk, which operates on the Verizon network. The new Walmart Family Mobile will operate on the T-Mobile USA network.

What’s unique about Walmart Family Mobile is that the plan is offered as a post paid program which means customers will pay their bill at the end of each month, but does not require a contract so no early termination fees apply.

The WalMart Family Mobile plan features unlimited calling and texting for $45 per month for the first line, and $25 per month for each additional line.

Data (browsing the mobile web, Facebook, email, etc…) is a totally different story however.  Each new line comes with 100MB of data, but more than that will cost you: $10 for an additional 200MB, $25 for an additional 500MB, and $40 for an additional 1GB of data and unused data never expires.

So if you’re a mobile data junkie, then this plan can eat you up fast! Especially if you’re into watching a lot of videos.

According to a leaked internal document from an anonymous source at Tmonews.com. T-Mobile will be releasing the Mytouch HD, which will be T-Mobile’s second phone to take advantage of T-Mobile HSPA+ network. The Mytouch HD is expected to have a 1Ghz dual processor and running Android 2.2. Although it doesn’t show whether or not it will have an HTC Sense user interface on top of Android 2.2. The handset will also have a 3.8-inch display, 5.0 MP camera and a VGA front face camera, 4GB of internal memory, 8Gb of pre-installed memory, which will be expandable to 32 GB via microSD.

The MytouchHD will feature video chat that will allow user’s to make video calls to other phone using the Qik application. Users will also be able to phone to PC video calls with Yahoo Messenger & Qik. The video chat feature can be used over T-Mobile’s 3G & HSPA+ network as well as over Wi-Fi.

The new handset seems to be very impressive. Between this phone and the T-Mobile G2 it will be really difficult to decide which phone to buy this holiday season. If any more information becomes available about the Mytouch HD I will let all of you know.

News broke a couple of hours ago that Best Buy has just announced some details about the T-Mobile HTC G2. The T-Mobile G2 will set you back a solid $199. You can pre-order the HTC G2 at Best Buy starting tomorrow (Friday). And the release date / shipping date for the T-Mobile HTC G2 is set for October 6th. I mean, what other details do you want regarding the highly anticipated HTC G2? Some people may refer to the HTC G2 as a 4G phone, however as you know with T-Mobile, you only get the 4G in cities that are 4G enabled.

T-Mobile announced Wednesday their first ever 4G Android phone called the T-Mobile G2. It is T-Mobile’s first ever 4G enabled phone that will run on their HSPA+ network. The T-Mobile G2 is replacing the  T-Mobile G1 which was the first ever Android mobile phone to hit the market nearly 2 years ago. On July 27th, T-Mobile said good-bye to the G1, obviously making room for the G2.

Google Android phones have come a long way!

It seems like Android has been on the market forever competing with big mobile brands like the iPhone.

Google first Android phone was the G1 which showed at T-Mobile on October 22nd, 2008 (someone check my dates…).

And here we are nearly 2 years later and T-Mobile has finally retired the good ol’ boy. The G1 can no longer be found on the T-Mobile website nor in the T-Mobile stores.

You’ll more than likely need to hit up Ebay to find yourself a G1 from now on.

The QWERTY slider was unveiled in October 2008 as the flagship for Android and had many of the same platform features as later Android phones like the Hero. Its age primarily became apparent this year when some apps and Android versions would no longer run on its limited memory and processor.

As of today, the oldest surviving Android phone on T-Mobile and in most places is the myTouch 3G, which arrived in the spring of last year.

We are now looking at Android 2.2 coming to some of the highest end data phones in the history of the industry. Phones like Droid, Droid X, and the HTC Incredible will all be getting Android 2.2 shortly.

Samsung has come out strong with their lineup of Android powered mobile phones. The Samsung Vibrant on T-Mobile and the Samsung Captivate on AT&T are some of the best Android powered devices on the market.

T-Mobile is making an effort to “stand out” from the Android crowd by offering their Samsung Vibrant 4G with the movie Avatar fully loaded.

That’s right folks – get the Samsung Vibrant 4G from T-Mobile and you will have the full length Avatar movie pre-loaded onto your phone.

Pretty cool huh?

In the hyper competitive market of mobile phones, carriers are having to find ways to distinguish themselves amongst the competition. Carriers are having to sell the exact same device, so typically carrier brand and reputation is the deciding factor.

But now that high end data phones from Android powered devices are coming to multiple carriers, the wireless providers are needing to be more creative on how to get attention from the consumers.

AT&T’s exclusivity deal with Apple that allows them to dominion over the iPhone is expected to come to an end this year (2010), and the rumor rumor mill is churning over which carrier will be the first to launch their own branded iPhone.

Here’s where the iPhone race stands at the moment – the T-Mobile iPhone is rumored to be coming in November of this year. And as recent as June 30th, the Verizon iPhone is reported to be coming in January 2011.

One thing’s for sure, whichever carrier can the build the best brand reputation (other than AT&T) for selling and servicing iPhone customers will certainly benefit substantially in their long term leverage with iPhone profits.

Once the iPhone finally opens up to other carriers, the battle for iPhone brand is sure to be brutal, and the gloves will be coming off as the carriers fight for that brand.

Currently, T-Mobile might have an advantage over Verizon because T-Mobile is a GSM carrier just like AT&T.

What are your thoughts on who will most likely be the first carrier other than AT&T to launch the iPhone?

Is it true? There is a rumor from The Next Web that a “high placed sourced” at T-Mobile got inside information that they (T-Mobile) will be releasing the iPhone in the fall when AT&T’s exclusivity clause expires with Apple.

This rumor would make a lot sense actually. Both AT&T and T-Mobile are GSM carriers, so activating an iPhone on T-Mobile should as easy as flipping the switch on a SIM card.

The interesting twist to this rumor is that I believe T-Mobile is about to be acquired by Sprint, thus making Spring the third largest mobile phone carrier. This would also leave Verizon playing catch up to both AT&T and Sprint in the race to iPhone profits.

Poly9 has been acquired by Apple for an undisclosed amount, according to AppleInsider. Poly9 is a web based, 3D mapping company from Quebec, Canada that creates interactive mapping software for use in a web browser. Poly9 employees were moved from Quebec to Apple headerquarters inCupertino, California and asked not to discuss the Poly9 acquisition.

So is this Apple’s attempt to take on Google Maps with their own 3D mapping app for the iPhone?

A lot of iPhone users have complained about the fact that Apple doesn’t have a mobile mapping application that competes with Google Maps.

Poly9 has already created some amazing mapping software already with the Poly9 Globe project, which comes in a light weight 303kb mobile app download.

Well for those T-Mobile subscribers that are still holding on to their T-Mobile G1’s, in hopes for a good Android handset to replace it may not have to wait much longer.

According to LightReading.com T-Mobile USA is planning on releasing a high-end handset in September.  The handset will be manufactured by HTC and will be able to run on T-Mobile HPSA + network.  Which mean the handset could reach download speeds of up to21 Mbps.  According to a leaked road map some websites are saying that it could be called the HTC Vanguard. A lot of sites have been saying that the picture above could be the handset.

As the mobile phone market grows more competitive, less popular phones find themselves in an interesting position. They either keep up with the trends, and latest mobile operating systems, or they fall by the wayside.

The HTC Magic is an example of the mobile phone industry forcing lower level (less popular) phones to keep up with the pace.

So later this summer, around the end of July or sometime in August, the HTC Magic is expected to be upgraded to the Android 2.1 OS.

Other popular phones such as the HTC EVO 4G are already running at least Android 2.1, and so phones like the HTC Magic need to innovate and upgrade, or they will find themselves out of interested customers.

Well it seems like the guys at AndroidSpin has got their hands on a leaked image for T-Mobile’s handset line up for the remainder of the year. Now it is possible that this could be fake, but since the Motorola Charm was just announced and it’s listed in the line up it just might not be.  According to the image a Dell netbook should be coming out between July & August. And the HTC Vanguard, which is due out in September, their is not a lot of information about the handset. There’s also an update going out to the Mytouch 3G,CLIQ & CLIQXT in August.

JaMarcus Russell, the former Oakland Raiders number 1 draft pick in the 2007 NFL draft, was arrested today in Mobile, Alabama and charged with possession of a drug called codeine syrup.

Codeine syrup is a controlled substance and requires a subscription for users to have possession. A sheriff’s spokeswoman released a statement today stating that JaMarcus Russell, 24, was arrested today at his home in Mobile, Alabama during an undercover investigation.

JaMarcus Russell was booked into the Mobile jail and then later released on a $2500 bond.

What is codeine syrup?

Codeine syrup is a controlled substance used for medicine, but is also sold in the black market because you get high from it. You can legally have it if you have a prescription, but it seems JaMarcus Russell didn’t have one!

This of course does not bode well for ol’ JaMarcus Russell.

The NFL will be coming down hard on Russell obviously with fines, but also possible suspensions.

It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds this week.

Users will be able to read the first chapter of an e-book for free before purchasing the book. The Samsung Vibrant will feature MobiTV, which will allow user to watch live & on-demand TV from over 35 channels including Bravo, NBC & ESPN.

The Samsung Vibrant will also feature Slacker Radio, which is an application that allows you to listen to free personalized radio. The Samsung Vibrant will have Gogo Inflight Internet that will offer up to a month of free in-flight Wi-Fi access.

The Samsung Vibrant will be able to benefit from T-Mobile USA HSPA+ network. The Samsung Vibrant will be available July 21^st for $199.99 from T-Mobile USA’s website. Starting July 1^st Radio Shack will also be offering the Samsung Vibrant for pre-order through their website & retail stores. Customer’s that pre-order through Radio Shack will have to purchase a $50 dollar gift card that will be applied toward the retail price of the handset.

In London, it is officially 12:26 am on June 15th, 2010 which means that it is now officially the day to pre order the iPhone 4 in the UK.

The day that iPhone fans in the United States are chomping at the bit about has come about 5 hours early for UK iphone fans! So is anyone envious of UK at the moment? Do you wish you lived in London right now?

In the UK, there are five major mobile phone carriers that will be offering the iPhone 4. Those five carriers are:

• Orange
• Vodafone
• T-Mobile
• Three

Accordint to Engadget, Three UK was the very first carrier in the UK to actually announce they will be taking iPhone 4 pre orders on June 15th – which is now today.

Apple announced earlier they expect to sell 3 million iPhone 4 devices a month and they are ready with the supply needed to meet that demand. The strategy by Apple seems to be a lot different with the iPhone 4 compared to previous iPhone releases.

With the iPhone 4, Apple is leveraging several different retailers both in the United States, and throughout the world, to facilitate the sales of the iPhone 4.

Want to watch the 2010 World Cup live online, real time streaming on the web? Then the best place to do that – at least from what I’ve seen – is at none other than ESPN3.com. At ESPN3.com, it looks like each and every game of the 2010 World Cup is going to be streaming live online.

They also compared T-Mobile’s current 3G network with T-Mobile HSPA+ network using T-Mobiles webConnect Rocket USB stick. While using HSPA+ speeds where only 15% faster than T-Mobile current 3G network HSPA 7.2. T-Mobiles HSPA+ network was also tested against Sprints 3G & Verizon’s 3G networks. Which according to the chart below T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network is considerably faster than Sprint’s 3G & Verizon’s 3G networks. But only slightly faster than Sprint 4G (WiMax) network. Now keep in mind that these are real world test and not done by a marketing group. PcMag has also compared cellular networks from all 4 of the cell companies in various US regions. So tell me what do you think of the results of T-Mobiles HSPA+ network compared to other cell providers?
