Of course, the media exploded with fans and haters. What would you expect? The media and haters found exploits which really are not bad at all. He has a signature pose where he kneels on the ground and prays to God before, during, and after a game. This pose was named “Tebowing” (similar to the planking phenomenon) by people everywhere and pictures started to pop up of people posing and “Tebowing”. What’s most interesting is the fact that Tim does not pay attention to any of the media and really doesn’t care that he shows his strong religious beliefs, and either do I. When a player talks trash to him he just smiles and talks or compliments them like nothing happened. And the funny part is, he really means his sincere words when he compliments them. For example, Brian Urlacher, the famous linebacker of the Bears, was asked what he thought of Tim and he said, “he’s a good running back”, which would be taken as a complete insult to any other NFL quarterback. Not Tebow though, he said he was honored to have kind words from such a prestigious linebacker.

Before this Tim Tebow Saturday Night Live Skit, as I mentioned, he was on a winning streak. They were playing the Patriots and Tom Brady, one of the best quarterbacks ever in my opinion. So there was even more controversy and media frenzy over this matchup. The Broncos ended up losing and shortly after this Tim Tebow SNL Spoof Video came out.

Tim Tebow was, without a doubt and without debate, the best college football player in the history of the game. The masses of fans that follow Tim Tebow is unprecedented and the reputation that he brought to the University of Florida is equally astounding.

When the Denver Broncos traded up to select Tebow in the first round of the 2010 draft, the expectation was that Denver was getting their franchise quarterback.

But with the lockout lingering through the summer, the brass in Denver – such as John Elway, coach John Fox, and and general manager Brian Xanders – were unable to evaluate the super star from Florida.

The problem is, now that the minicamps and pre-season are underway, Tim Tebow is, according to people in the Denver Broncos organization, no better than the fourth string quarterback.

With Fox’s announcement on Monday that Kyle Orton has retained the starting position at quarterback for the third straight season, the battle for Tim Tebow is now with Brady Quinn for the number two spot. It’s clear that Tim Tebow is not playing at the level of expectations that everyone had when he was coming out of Florida.

According to John Elway, executive vice president of football operations, there is always a concern with the investment made for the first round draft pick, meaning, the Broncos spent an awful lot of money on Tim Tebow, however “obviously, there is an investment, and there will always be an investment in first-round picks,” Elway said Monday. “But the bottom line is, our responsibility is to do the best we can to win football games, and we’ve got to figure out the best thing to do to accomplish that. And I think ultimately that’s what fans want.”

All of this puts Tim Tebow in a position that he is certainly not used to, fighting for a second place position as the quarterback. But ultimately, like Elway said, winning games is the bottom line and the positions are filled with the folks who give the team the best chance possible at achieving that goal.

You gonna love this!

According to PopCrunch, Teammate LenDale White tweeted this picture of Tebow’s new haircut which seems to have given him a literal halo to go along with his figurative one. This goes a little above and beyond carrying veterans shoulder pads I’d say, but I guess good for Tebow for working hard to fit in.

So what do you think about Tim Tebow’s new haircut?

And who can’t wait for the NFL season to get started?

The day that every Tim Tebow fan has been waiting for appears to be upon us.

Pictures of Tim Tebow’s Denver Broncos jersey is just now starting to hit the web, and the jersey is not the traditional #15 that we saw Tebow wearing during his days at Florida.

The Tim Tebow Broncos jersey is clearly sporting #10.

Here’s the image of Tim Tebow’s #10 Denver Broncos jersey:

Tim Tebow’s rookie debut at Denver Broncos mini camp:

According to Huffington Post, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner from Florida and surprising first-round draft pick dons an orange No. 15 jersey and is participating in workouts on a chilly Friday morning with six other draft choices, 19 college free agents and two wide receivers trying out with the team.

During the 25-minute period in which reporters, photographers and cameramen are allowed to observe, Tebow ran agility drills and then threw several passes under the watchful eyes of coach Josh McDaniels and his younger brother, Ben, who is Denver’s new quarterbacks coach.

Deploying his new and improved throwing motion that removes the looping windup he had in college, Tebow’s throws were tight and compact.

It will be interesting to see exactly how much playing time Tim Tebow will be getting in the up coming 2010 NFL season.

Josh McDaniels is very excited about having the Heisman Trophy winner on his team as quarterback, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be seeing a lot of playing time right from the beginning with Tim Tebow.

What do you think?

So what do you first think about Tim Tebow wearing #10 instead of #15 that he had at Florida?

And do you think Tim Tebow will be getting a lot of playing time this coming season at Denver?

By the amount of publicity and media coverage that Tim Tebeow is getting, you would never guess that he was the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL draft. The Denver Broncos drafted Tim Tebow last night as the 25th pick in the first round of the draft. And ever since that moment, the media has been full throttle with Tim Tebow coverage.

Perhaps the best story so far, to me anyway, is the Tim Tebow Broncos Jersey. There has yet to be an “official” Tim Tebow jersey released, but there are certainly ways to acquire a Tim Tebow Broncos Jersey here and here.

I found this great article on SBNation.com that had a photoshop’d image of what a Tim Tebow Denver Broncos jersey could possibly look like if he kept his #15 that he had as a quarterback in Florida. The ironic part of this is who previously held No. 15 for the Broncos — Brandon Marshall. I have a feeling Josh McDaniels will like this No. 15 a lot better than the last one.

Here’s the Tim Tebow Broncos Jersey concept:

Wait a minute! Wasn’t Jimmy Clausen suppose to be drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft?

Some of the NFL draft projections had Jimmy Clausen going around the mid-teens, or even early 20’s, in the first round picks. But name after name was called, and time after time Jimmy Clausen’s name did not get called.

So where does that put Jimmy Clausen, the star quarterback from Notre Dame. Jimmy Clausen’s thunder was stole even moreso when at the 25th overall pick, Tim Tebow’s name was finally called. So much for the mid-teens to early 20’s prediction.

Where will Jimmy Clausen fit in the NFL draft now?

I think that at this point, the Jimmy Clausen play becomes a game of chess for the owners and General Managers. Will the St. Louis Rams pick up Jimmy Clausen even thought they just drafted the #1 pick, that being quarterback Sam Bradford?

Perhaps St. Louis will take Jimmy Clausen knowing that it will open up additional trade opportunities with other teams.

But let’s think about Jimmy Clausen and how he must have been feeling last night!

Here you are, a star quarterback from Notre Dame. You know you aren’t going in the top 10 picks, but you certainly expect to get drafted shortly there after. But then, suddenly here we are at #25, Tim Tebow’s name gets called, and still no Jimmy Clausen.

What do you think?

So with the remaining rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft still ahead, where do you see Jimmy Clausen getting picked up?

Do you think the St. Louis Rams will take Clausen to create a platform for potential trade opportunities?

The 2010 NFL Draft went as most people had planned. There really seems to be a science associated with figuring out the NFL draft picks. And the predictions weren’t too far off from what actually went down in the Green Room in New York City.

Perhaps the draft pick that garnered the most attention was the 25th pick of the night, which was Florida’s prized quarterback Tim Tebow.

Tim Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos as the 25th pick in the first round draft of the 2010 NFL draft. Tim Tebow was at his residents in Florida watching the 2010 NFL draft, when the draft pick was announced.

After Tim Tebow was selected by the Denver Broncos, ESPN was able to get in the door for an exclusive interview with the quarterback.

As for the rest of the NFL draft, people might be wondering what exactly took place in the very first picks of the night. Some people believed that Sam Bradford was a sure bet to be the #1 draft pick for the 201 NFL Draft, and guess what, they were right. So hopefully some people made out like a bandit over that gamble.

I stand corrected!

I thought that the Tim Tebow Denver Broncos jerseys were not yet available for purchase. And perhaps, an hour or so ago when I wrote that article, they weren’t.

But I just found a link on the NFLShop.com’s website that is currently selling a Reebok Denver Broncos Tim Tebow Replica White Jersey. There is a disclaimer however, and it reads:

Disclaimer: The player’s number is subject to change and the jersey will not ship until the official number is issued

The replica jersey by Reebok® is made with quick-drying nylon mesh and designed with screen-printed player and team graphics on the chest, back, sleeves and shoulders.

Price: $79.99

So if you’re ready to shell out almost 80 bucks for a replica Tim Tebow Denver Broncos jersey, just make sure you understand that the official number has yet to be announced and your jersey might look a bit strange if the numbers don’t match.

There are also Tim Tebow draft jerseys available on Ebay. These are basically jerseys that are celebrating the fact that Tim Tebow was drafted and there isn’t any specific number, name, or color, etc… associated with the jerseys.

It’s amazing, actually, to see the different ways that people are trying to make money off of the Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos draft announcement.

I’ve been trying to find a video that I can embed into my blog of the Tim Tebow’s comments after being drafted by the Denver Broncos.

But so far, the only place to watch Tim Tebow’s interview is on YouTube and ESPN, and both sites have disabled embedding.

None the less, the Tim Tebow comments after being drafted by the Denver Broncos is a great video to watch because you ultimately get a sense of Tebow’s leadership and his excitement about being drafted into the NFL.

There is only one Tim Tebow Denver Broncos video on the web that I’ve been able to find that seems to be of any value at this point, and that is the video showing the announcement of the Denver Broncos selecting Tim Tebow.

This is a video of Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, making the announcement of the 25th selection in the first round of the NFL draft. The announcement is Tim Tebow being selected by the Denver Broncos, and the video goes on to give a lot of stats of Tim Tebow during his time as quarterback at the University of Florida.

The video is homemade, obviously, and it looks like it was shot from perhaps a Flip that someone was holding up to their TV.

Anyway, here’s the video of Tim Tebow being selected by the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL draft. I will continue to search for a video to embed here at my site that is one of Tim Tebow’s comments and interview after being selected by the Denver Broncos – until then, you can watch that video here and here.

Although Tim Tebow was drafted number #25 in the NFL draft, it was still at least the first round. And despite the expectation that Tebow wasn’t going to be drafted in the top 5, there was plenty of excitement and media building up around the “Tim Tebow draft selection”.

Tim Tebow decided not to come to New York for the draft, and instead opted to stay at home in Florida to be with family and friends during the 2010 NFL draft.
Last night during the 2010 NFL Draft, Tim Tebow stole the show.

Despite Tim Tebow not showing up in the Green Room in New York City, and instead staying with his family and friends in Jacksonville, Florida, the media had no problem catching up with him and making him very much a part of the NFL draft.

Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round at #25, and the Denver Broncos were the team who decided to bring on the all star quarterback out of Florida.

Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has been doing some cleaning up within the ranks of the Denver Broncos. Jay Cutler was cut loose from the team because of problems, and now McDaniels is ready to bring in a new form of leadership at the quarterback position.

Here is Tim Tebow being drafted by the Denver Broncos

During the off season, there has been a lot of speculation that Tim Tebow was not NFL material. There was criticism circulating about his throwing arm being too low, and how he just wasn’t ready for the NFL.

A lot of criticism was also geared toward how people believed that in Florida, the receivers were always open, but in the NFL, none of the receivers are going to be open. And due to Tim Tebow’s throwing deficiencies, this was going to impact his ability to make completions.

However, in Florida, Tim Tebow ended up with 9,285 passing yards which is 4th in the school’s history.

There is no question that Tim Tebow is not only ready for the NFL, but that he will thrive and prosper as an NFL quarterback.

I decided to put together an NFL Draft 2010 live Twitter stream so that you can get up to the second information on anything and everything happening in the 2010 NFL Draft (see live Twitter stream below).

One of the biggest stories so far in the 2010 NFL draft centers on Tim Tebow and where, or what team, will finally end up drafting him. I wrote yesterday about how Tim Tebow made the decision to not show up to the 2010 NFL Draft in New York City. He decided instead to stay at home in Florida and watch the draft from TV with his family and friends.

Some people commented that the reason Tim Tebow wasn’t attending the 2010 NFL Draft was because he was afraid of being on national TV and not being drafted until late in the draft picks – somehow, I doubt that is going to happen.

Anyway, below is the live Twitter feed for the 2010 NFL Draft:
Auto updates every 5 – 15 seconds

Say what you will about Tim Tebow, but one thing you can’t say is that he seems to always have his priorities in place.

News reports are coming out stating that Tim Tebow has decided against attending the NFL draft ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.

What’s his reason for not attending you ask?

According to FoxSports.com, Tim Tebow had this to say about his decision on not attending the NFL draft this year, “… I thought it was best to be home with my friends and family. It’s not just an award for me being drafted. It’s for all the people who invested in me during my life. I want to be able to celebrate with those people.”

Wow… can someone get me a kleenex?

Seriously though, obviously Tim Tebow places a higher priority on being with family and friends then he does shaking Roger Goodel’s hand and holding up a jersey.

Way to go Tim…

2009 SEC Championship Florida vs. Alabama

From Dave Hyde / Sacbee.com
+
ATLANTA — This was the Nick Saban we miss. He spent a few suit-and-tie moments Friday in the Georgia Dome thanking the media for all the, “positive self-gratification,” as he said in one of his phrasing quirks, it gave his players this season.

Then someone asked if one of Saban’s Alabama freshmen had, “met your expectations.” That’s all it took. That word. Expectations. Another quirk.

“Obviously, you don’t cover our team,” Saban said.

He stared at the reporter for an extended second.

“I guess I’d better explain,” he said. “You all create expectations. We don’t. It’s a disservice. We just take the player and coach him. That’s it. We spend part of the time trying to get him to not listen to the expectations for himself that you all put on him.”

Next question, the face on his look said.

And the next question is what it always has been: Was he being funny here? Smug? A jerk?

It always was hard to read Saban in his Dolphins seasons, right to his walk out the door. But that’s not the point here. Nor is the point he remains full of pithy Saban-isms, such as his, “paradox of success. You become successful enough to play big games that can ruin your success.”

Here’s the point: He’s winning enough to put up with in Alabama. And don’t say winning doesn’t allow odd behavior. It allows everything in today’s sports world. And of all the things you could say about Saban – cold, arrogant, deceitful – no one who saw him work said he couldn’t coach.

His team is 12-0. It’s ranked No. 2. It plays Florida for the second consecutive year in this coin-flip of a Southeastern Conference Championship/national championship game.

Saban’s three years haven’t been painless. He lost to Louisiana-Monroe the first year, after all. But the only thing standing between him and a good SEC run appears to be Florida’s Urban Meyer. Maybe.

That’s part of the intrigue of today. Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin had the zinger of the pre-game hype, saying in his thorn-in-Florida’s-side manner: “Florida has the better players and Alabama has the better coaches.”

Meyer’s two national titles and 22 consecutive wins need no defending. Of course. But the dynamics remain interesting in a way that gets back to coaching.

Florida’s star defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap was suspended this week for drunk driving. Alabama’s star running back Mark Ingram was removed in last week’s game with an injury.

“This is a little like a title fight, all the talent, all the little unknowns,” Saban said.

Take Florida’s offense. The big difference in the teams is at quarterback, where Tim Tebow gives the Gators an edge. But Saban obviously has spent hours dating to the offseason examining this offense.

When asked if that was the case, he said, “There are some questions you shouldn’t answer.”

Of course, he did allow he’s counted 162 different Florida formations.

“They don’t even run 162 different plays,” he said. “But it’s the way they present the plays is the point.”

The Xs and Os are one thing. What Saban said he missed about college was the relationships. At Alabama, players come to his home, just like they did at LSU. When a player was involved in a misdemeanor domestic issue last summer, he required the player to talk with police counselors and ride with policemen to see the impact of other domestic issues.

In Tuscaloosa, he’s treated like the second coming of Bear Bryant, even if he doesn’t have a title yet. That’s what today is about. Can he get by Florida? Or does Meyer become his personal roadblock?

“Hopefully, we learned a few things last year about what it takes to get to a championship game and what else it takes to win a championship,” Saban said.

Saban pointed down at his leg. It was jiggling up and down, up and down, under the table. He’s nervous already, he was saying.

“We understand all the love we get is conditional on one thing – we win the game,” he said.

He didn’t need the Dolphins years to see that. But his Alabama time confirms it. He can be a handful to put up with. But if his hand is full of a trophy, it won’t matter to Alabama fans at all.
