Instagram is making progress by leaps and bounds with every day since its foundation was laid by Facebook in 2012. It has provided awesome features to its users with tremendous photos and videos sharing capabilities. Instagram direct brings new flavor to the unique App by providing the capability to share photos and videos with individuals or small group of people. It is becoming busier as the time is advancing and during 2014, the trend will shoot up drastically.

Facebook intends to put Instagram in competition with the Snapchat that deals with 400 million photos each day. However, it’s too early to dream of reaching that landmark. Let’s look at some of the wonderful achievements of Instagram during 2013.

Instagram didn’t present the statistics of number of videos or photos shared that day but still we can think of a huge number that can be beaten only on some other special day as November 28, 2013. It has been predicted that the next Thansgivukkah will occur after a thousand years now.

Popular Hashtags

The hashtags are part and parcel of every social network these days. Instagram is not an exception to this trend either. This year, the top hashtag has been ‘#love’. Its popularity can be easily guessed from the fact that more than 371 million posts had ‘#love’ as hashtag in them.

Some other hashtags that got popularity are ‘#friends’, ‘#food’, and ‘#fashion’ etc.

Instagram users are spread worldwide and not only from the United States. This fact is supported with the figure that more than half of the top five popular geotagged cities are outside US. However, individual locations have different statistics to tell. Eight of the ten top most locations are all from United States.

According to HuffPost, the Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers (or ICANN), has apparently approved the creation of generic domain names.

For example, we could soon be visiting sites with domain names such as .gaga (aka, Lady Gaga), .bieber (really…?), .facebook, and even .porn (not good since there is already the .xxx domain name that was approved in March).

We could even see product specific domain names such as .ipad, .iphone, or .android, etc…

But don’t worry, these domain names won’t be as easy as going to GoDaddy and shelling out $9 bucks for a 1 year .com, oh no…

To register a generic top-level domain, or gTLD, brands must be an established private or public organization, prove their legitimacy to ICANN’s board – and shell out a cool $185,000.

I’m really of the opinion that the Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber photoshoot at the beach was 100% staged to do one thing – sell magazines.

I know that Bill O’Reilly had issues with this. After all, Kim Kardashian is 42 years old and Justin Bieber is what… 16?

But regardless, here you have two extremely popular (and single) superstars that constantly command media attention.

So it only makes sense to stage a scene like this at the beach – holding hands, splashing in the ocean, having a great time.

It’s nothing more than business baby… period!

I would have to say that Shaq pretty much put the nail in the coffin for any singing gigs after he retires from the NBA.

Typically, Justin Bieber steals the show both in Google search and in Twitter trends. But over the last month, nothing – not even Justin Bieber – could come close to comparing to the searches for the World Cup.

As you can see, the search phrase “justin bieber” has dominated the search engines over the past 30 days.

This reflects the changing dynamics and popularity of football (or soccer) both here in the US and throughout the world.

Internationally, search volume was highest in African countries like Botswana, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe. Closer to home, users on the East Coast were the most interested in searching for World Cup related terms, particularly in Vermont, New York, and DC.

Beyond their general interest, searchers were also looking to buy hats, jerseys, flags, and other goods to show their support of their favorite teams, according to Google Retail.

This year, June 30th carried heavy implications in the world of teenage girls within the United States.

1)  Justin Bieber’s My World tour kicked off in Hartford, Connecticut

2)  The Twilight Saga movie, Eclipse kicked off throughout the United States

So the epic battle of the day, and the question that MTV took to the streets was this – who more important on this day, June 30th, 2010? The answer may, or may not in fact surprise you.

This information is very sparse at the moment, but I’m reading in a couple of places that CNN has reported that Justin Bieber has broken his neck in a car accident.  Can anyone else provide some links below to this story of whether or not Justin Bieber did in fact break his neck in a car accident?

Justin Bieber has broken his neck in a road traffic collision.

He was being driven to a local fast food restaurant last night when the collision occurred, the alleged driver James Peterson aged 34 who swove into the car Justin Bieber was in was allegedly drink driving.

I am currently getting in touch with local PD and hospitals in the area in an effort to get more information on this story as it develops so stay tuned folks.

Good job Twitter!  So you think you can actually influence the actual “wants” of the people that make up the web? Let this be a lesson to you…

Besides, are you (Twitter) suppose to be all about open source, freedom of information, and trending lists that represent what people are most interested in?

Why is it then if Justin Bieber is in fact more of a trending topic then anything else, then why wouldn’t his name be represented on the Twitter trending list?

Twitter ultimately failed in its attempts to squash the Justin Bieber movement on Twitter.

Simple – Justin Bieber fans have figured out a way to outsmart Twitter’s new algorithm!

According to CNN, by Sunday, fans had tweaked his name, calling him Twieber or Jieber to get around the new algorithm change. Now he’s in two top spots on Twitter’s lists, and all is well in the world.

You may have heard by now that Twitter tweaked their algorithm so as to show a higher quality list of Twitter trending topics. Well in that subtle update, the reign of Justin Bieber on Twitter trends came to an end.

PerezHilton.com put up this funny image of Justin Bieber responding to the Twitter algorithm update (see image above).

And Justin Bieber even responded directly to Twitter about the update that knocked him out of the daily top 10 rankings – here’s what Bieber said:

“I heard you changed your system to stop my fans from making trending topics?? Really?? Where is the love??” Bieber tweeted to @twitter on Saturday, the service’s official Twitter handle, according to MSNBC.com.

Twitter sent Justin the following tweet:

“the Twitter Trends tweak is nothing personal. It was long planned & better shows what is emerging right now.”

However, no sooner did Twitter make the change to their algorithm that sent Justin Bieber into the oblivion on Twitter trends did the 12 year old YouTube sensation –  Greyson Michael Chance – started dominating the worldwide Twitter trending list.

Justin Bieber is not pleased whatsoever with Twitter’s new algorithm update that ultimately blocked him from showing in the Twitter Trends list. Bieber has dominated the Twitter trending list for weeks – perhaps even months – and spoke out against the via… you guessed it – Twitter!

Here’s what Justin Bieber had to say about Twitter’s new algorithm update:

“I heard you changed your system to stop my fans from making trending topics?? Really?? Where is the love??” Bieber tweeted to @twitter on Saturday, the service’s official Twitter handle, according to MSNBC.com.

On May 14th, Twitter announced that a new update to the Twitter Trending algorithm has been implemented, and instantly – just like that – the reign of Justin Bieber on Twitter Trends came to an end.

Did Twitter update their algorithm specifically to stop people like Justin Bieber to dominate the list for so long? Not according to Twitter:  “It is important to note that this new algorithm does not “block” any topics from trending.”

Bieber Out – Greyson In

To add insult to injury, no sooner did Justin Bieber get booted from the Twitter trending list did another young up and coming star emerge on the very same list – Greyson Chance!

Greyson Michael Chance is the 6th grader who’s YouTube video has gone viral and ultimately ended up landing a gig on Ellen.

Most of the day yesterday – Saturday – the word “Greyson” was trending on Twtter.

Man… that must have made Justin Bieber pretty upset.

You may remember a couple of days ago when the YouTube video of 12 year old Greyson Chance started getting talked about on the web. This is the kid that sang a Lady Gaga song while playing the piano and in turn has been generating millions of view on YouTube. But on Twitter, Greyson Chance has apparently presented a threat to current teen sensation Justin Bieber. And I don’t necessarily mean from Justin Bieber himself, but from all of the Justin Bieber fans that are on Twitter.

What might be at the heart of this defensive posturing is the fact that “Greyson” currently #4 on the Twitter trending list. And guess who is nowhere to be found?  That’s right – Justin Bieber is nowhere to be found on Twitter’s trending list.

When you click on “Greyson” on Twitter’s trending list, you are presented with pretty much one overriding theme – everyone is comparing Greyson Chance to Justin Bieber. Some of Justin Bieber’s fans are taking offense to that, others are just pointing out some similarities.

The bottom line is that Greyson Chance, at only 12 years old, has certainly taking the web by storm and created quite the stir.

Rumors are that Justin Bieber is currently in New York recording his next album. The pop star sensation has been busy traveling the world reaching out the fans and giving his fans exactly what they are looking for in his music, style, and performance.

Justin Bieber has also been busy giving a flurry of interviews throughout the world as everyone is trying to get their particular publication noticed simply by conducting an interview with Justin Bieber – I guess these publications figure that if they could only get their brand name associated with Justin Bieber, then the publication will take off.

So along with everything else this young kid is doing, rumors are that he is back in the recording studio in New York City recording his 2nd album.

According to OnTheFlix.com, there are legal papers that have been uncovered that indicate Justin Bieber is in the recording studio working on his next album – here’s what they say has been uncovered – the papers read like this: “Justin is providing his services as a recording artist in recording studios located in New York City. The foregoing services rendered by the minor shall not, however, require excessive time as to interfere with the minor’s education and welfare.” They also report that Justin recently revealed that he’s going through puberty changes with his voice,and can’t hit some of the notes he used to.

I’ll have to give to Saturday Night Live here lately, they have really made some great selections as hosts and have been driving massive viewers to the late night show, and also filling out the audience seats at the show in New York City.

Recently, Saturday Night Live really took a bold step by having Justin Bieber on the show. Although Justin Bieber was not hosting the show that night, his presence in the skits was unprecedented and clearly drove high levels of viewers to the show.

Just like Justin Bieber’s high profile appearance, last night Saturday Night Live had a host on that was really part of a greater movement of social networking power than it was anything else.

Betty White was the host of Saturday Night Live last night and she credits the appearance as nothing more than the amazing work of Facebook, and the Betty White to host SNL Facebook Fan Page.

During her monologue at the opening of Saturday Night Live, Betty White gave credit to Facebook and said that honestly, she had never heard of the social networking site. However, after she learned more about Facebook she ultimately declared that “Facebook is a huge waste of time!” – and then the audience broke out into laughter.

Justin Bieber, Oprah Winfrey Show Interview

Justin Bieber appeared live on the Oprah Winfrey on Tuesday (2 days ago). The Oprah Winfrey Show will broadcast the Justin Bieber interview on Tuesday, May 11th.

So you fanatical Justin Bieber fans better mark your calendars right now – Justin Bieber’s Oprah appearance will air on Tuesday, May 11th.

According to a writer at Examiner.com, it is believed that Oprah will pursue the “A-Typical Oprah interview” with “a giant dose of the familiar — such as how he started out on Youtube, was discovered by Usher and Scooter Braun and ultimately became the reincarnation of past teen heartthrobs like Hanson and The Backstreet Boys.”

Oprah tailors to a more mature crowd however, so I’m expecting her questions to be more geared toward how he is dealing with his crazed fans, and his world-wide fame as such a young kid.

I also believe that Oprah will ask him about things such as his parents, school, and other questions that “moms” might ask as well.

It is obvious that for someone so young, the world-wide fame can be something that might be difficult to deal with. Things such as security and body guards, death threats on Twitter, and other dramatic instances might be challenging for Justin Bieber. And I’m sure that Oprah will be want to know how he deals with such things.

Ultimately, The Oprah Winfrey show might just set an all time high viewership on May 11th when Justin Bieber airs on TV.

The world goes crazy over anything to do with Justin Bieber, including something as little as a couple of Justin Bieber photos.

Justin Bieber Fever – Leave The Kid Alone Already (Video)

Justin Bieber – some people in the world love him (understatement of the year…), some hate him (again, understatement of the year), some people just want to stare at his photos, other just want to burn all his photos – some people, like during Saturday Night Live, can’t decide whether they have the hots of him or just want to give him a bath!

Regardless of which why your emotions sway about Justin Bieber, just remember ya’ll, he is still just a kid after all (wow, did that rhyme?).

Justin Bieber does, regardless of how you feel about him, command a lot of attention from people beyond just his screaming teenage girl fan base. He has met President Barack Obama three separate times – and performed for him (I think) each time they met.

Plus he is the youngest kid in history who has ever been recommended to actually host Saturday Night Live – let alone having a leading role on the late night TV show.

All of these, and more, prove that even though Justin Bieber is a pop sensation like so many before him, he is commanding the attention of some pretty high profile individuals – not to mention the hundreds of millions of screaming fans that following him everywhere he goes.

Bobby Brown Died – Is Bobby Brown Really Dead?

Wow, so tonight is apparently reserved for some pretty outlandish rumors getting started on the web. First we had the rumor of Justin Bieber kissing a boy, now there are rumors popping up that Bobby Brown died.

C’mon people, someone out there reading this must know the real deal on Bobby Brown.

Is Bobby Brown really dead?

You would think that there would already be confirmed reports from somewhere, just like when Michael Jackson died. But as it is now, it’s just sporadic rumors on the web.

According to the LongIslandPress.com, a chunk of the rumors seem to be stemming from Twitter, where users are reporting he succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 41 (his actual age, so there’s an iota of plausibility there).

Bobby Brown has not really been in the news lately and his name has really flown below the radar the past couple of years. I guess that’s why nobody really knows right now if the “Bobby Brown died” rumors are true or just that… rumors.

There are rumors popping up on the web and spreading like wild fire that Justin Bieber was kissing a boy! That’s right, you heard me… rumors are that Justin Bieber was kissing a boy.

A couple of bizarre twists to this story that makes me think they are nothing but rumors, or completely blown out of proportion story lines:

1) There are no images or pictures of Justin Bieber kissing a boy. With the insane amount of pictures and images of Justin Bieber on the web, then surely there would be a picture or image of Justin Bieber kissing a boy.

2) Why isn’t Justin Bieber’s name trending on Twitter right now? If this story was something more than fabricated rumors, then wouldn’t you think that “Justin Bieber” would certainly be a trending story on Twitter? I would think so.

So anyway, I’m calling “fabricated rumor” on this one, unless someone can produce more solid evidence.

There is no question about who is the current hot pop star on the planet right now. His name is Justin Bieber, and people are literally going crazy trying to see him and meet him.

Justin Bieber has had 7 songs from his debut album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but he has reached the top thirty charts in over 10 countries.

People are crazy for Justin Bieber, and he’s only 16 years old!

But Justin Bieber loses out at The Juno Awards

Examiner reports that Bieber was nominated for “Album of the Year,” “Pop Album of the Year,” and “New Artist of the Year,” but he failed to take home the award in any of the categories.

Wow – how is that even possible?

How can Justin Bieber be the most popular, most in demand pop star on the planet and walk away from The Juno Awards without a single award?

I don’t get that at all…

He did a live performance during the show with rapper Drake who ended up stealing the award from Bieber for “New Artist of the Year.”

Justin Bieber Wants To Date Beyonce & Kim Kardashian

Sorry ladies, I know that you all want to be Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, as is evident by the massive commenting about being Justin Bieber’s girlfriend on my blog.

But you’ll have to get in line behind two ladies that Justin Bieber has already said that he wants to date.

Justin Bieber wants to date Beyonce and Kim Kardashian..

I think though that Beyonce and Kim Kardashian are both like at least 20 years older than Justin Bieber, so they might not quite be interested in the young pop star.

But then again, from the responses that Justin Bieber receives from his worldwide fans, maybe they would re-consider dating Justin Bieber just this once.

Ladies all over the world wish they were Justin Bieber’s girlfriend. Many young ladies will stand in line all night long, endure inclement weather, and and go with out sleep just for the opportunity to get only one photo with the pop super star.

According to MTV, Justin Bieber was asked whether he had any celebrity crushes and the 16-year old said: “I can pick any girl… I’m gonna take Meagan Good. I’m gonna take Kim Kardashian. And Beyoncé.”

And so there you have it, Meagan Good, Kim Kardashian and Beyonce.

Out of hundreds of millions of fans that wish they could be dating Justin Bieber, these are the three that he expresses an interest in.

Like I said before, this by no means implies that any of these three ladies are even remotely interested in 16 year old Justin Bieber.

One thing is for sure with Justin Bieber, he seems to prefer older women.

I just wrote about Justin Bieber coming to Radio Disney, because my daughter told me she heard it on Disney Channel.

Now, after reading a little bit further into it, I’m wondering if Disney Channel wasn’t just promoting the interview that Justin Bieber already did on Radio Disney.

When I went to Radio Disney, I was able to find the Justin Bieber interview pretty easily.

I was also surprised to find that Justin Bieber has done a lot of interviews and commentary on Radio Disney.

Since I have young children in the house, of course Disney Channel is the channel of choice on our TV.

So one of my kids just came in and told me “hey Dad, Justin Bieber is going to be on Radio Disney Total Acces!”

I said, “really?”

Justin Bieber Met President Barack Obama Twice

So let’s count the number of 16 year olds who have met with the President of the United States not just once, but on two different occasions.

Hmmm….  let’s see…. umm!  I can’t think of any, can you?

Well, there is one actually, and his name is Justin Bieber.

That’s right, Justin Bieber has actually met President Barack Obama two different times – pretty impressive huh?

In fact, one of those times Justin Bieber was invited directly into The Oval Office to hang out with President Barack Obama, take some pictures, and just chill out I guess.

Here’s what Justin Bieber had to say about hanging out with President Barack Obama in The Oval Office at the White House:

“I got to hang out with him in the Oval Office, which is pretty crazy, because no one really gets to go in there,” he said. “But it was pretty incredible. I got pictures with him.”

The two times that Justin Bieber has met and performed for President Barack Obama was when he took the  stage in the Washington D.C.  in December where he performed along with mentor Usher for “Christmas in Washington.”

Justin Bieber Takes Back #1 Spot from Usher

Justin Bieber has definitely taken the pop music world by storm.

Last week, Justin Bieber was ousted by Usher’s Raymond v. Raymond at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 list.

However, Justin Bieber has made a strong comeback with My World 2.0 and is now back on top to reclaim the #1 spot on the the Billboard 200.

Justin Bieber sold 102,000 copies of the CD in the week ending April 11th, 2010, according to Nielson SoundScan.

Perhaps one of the catalyst to Justin Bieber’s rise back to the #1 spot was his appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

The 16 year old pop star appeared on SNL in an unusual selection by the late night TV show.

It was unclear exactly what audience SNL was trying to reach by having Justin Bieber on the show, but no doubt, it worked in driving viewers to watch SNL.

And it’s possible that Justin Bieber’s appearance on SNL gave him the boost he needed to get back on top of the Billboard 200 list.

Justin Bieber is certainly an anomaly amongst teen sensation super stars.

He already has #1 hits under his belt, and now has a SNL (Saturday Night Live) gig behind him as well.

In an interview conducted by MTV, Justin Bieber was asked about why he’s so popular among various demographics, and he replied with:

“I think it’s because I didn’t go through the Disney route. I didn’t go corny… I’ve been cool and collected.”

Wow, so first of all, Justin Bieber just called The Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana (and you can probably throw all other Disney stars under the same bus) “corny”.

Does Disney Manufacture Talent

I think if nothing else, this raises a very good question and one I’ve talked about with my wife before on several occasions.

Does Disney just manufacture talent?

Basically, does Disney take ordinary kids and create a “product” out of them through their own marketing and promotion, and in essence manufacture talent for the sake of profiting their company?

Justin Bieber doesn’t seem manufactured in the “Disney” sense of the word.

Justin Bieber (16 years old) starred on SNL (Saturday Night Live) last night and the teen pop sensation captivated viewers with his presence.

Nobody is quite certain the motive behind having Justin Bieber on Saturday Night Live. After all, he is only 16 years old, so did SNL think that he would be reaching the young teen crowd from the SNL stage?

Or maybe it was simply a matter of branding and promotion for Saturday Night Live – having a big name star like Justin Bieber on the show will definitely draw a lot of attention and coverage on the web.

From 1up.com, the Gears of War 3 announcement mostly serves as official acknowledgment for what we already know; namely that Gears of War 3 exists and that it’s launching April 2011.

This announcement was more than likely set to go live following Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon, but the timing was never reset after he was bumped by Justin Bieber.

The claim that Justin Bieber has been blocked from the Twitter trending list is false!

Jodi Jill from Examiner.com has claimed that Twitter removed Justin Bieber from the Twitter trending list. Apparently, this news broke somewhere on the web. Justin Bieber’s name may have disappeared for a moment, and this caused the rumors to start flying about Twitter removing him from the trending list, but if you visit Twitter now, you see “Justin Bieber” trending again.

According to Examiner.com, fans are coming together to fight the decision by Twitter to block Justin Bieber from the Twitter trending list, but the way I see it, he’s still there!
