Takeaway:Is your iPhone Facebook Application frozen again? This is a common problem, your application hangs and doesn’t pull your news feed at all. Quickly use these troubleshooting techniques that will unfreeze your Facebook app so it can pull your news feed again.

This works to unfreeze your iPhone Safari or other Browser too!

The other day my iPhone froze on the Facebook application. This wasn’t the first time it’s happened and I’m sure it will happen again. Whenever I face this annoying problem I use the following techniques to get that app up and running again. This is primarily for an iPhone 4 but I’m sure it will work an iPhone 3G and possibly the iPhone 5 when it comes out.

Troubleshooting Step 1 : Disable Wi-Fi Connection on your iPhone

This technique works for the Facebook issues but it also works when your iPhone’s browser or Safari freezes and you can’t browse the internet, even though you have full service. Sometimes if there is a connection issue with your Wi-Fi connection it messes up your entire internet connection on your iPhone. I know, it doesn’t make much sense, you would think if there was a problem with the Wi-Fi connection it would just default to your iPhone service provider, but this isn’t the case (at least with my phone).

How to Disable iPhone Wi-Fi Connection

On your iPhone home screen go to:

Settings > Wi-Fi

If it’s already off, move on to step 2 below because we know it’s not the Wi-Fi signal causing the problem.

If it’s on:

It sounds like a no brainer but: Tap the button to turn it off! You can always start up your Wi-Fi again when you need to. This problem doesn’t always happen with Wi-Fi.

Close out of the settings and try opening your Facebook App again. Go to your news feed and refresh it by dragging the page down and letting go. If it was the problem was the Wi-Fi then you should now see your news feed! If Step 1 didn’t work for you go to Step 2 below.

If your Safari or Browser is Frozen on your iPhone

Follow the same procedure in Step 1 and turn off your Wi-Fi. Open Safari and refresh the page or try going to a new website. If the internet is working again then it was the Wi-Fi connection causing the issue.

Troubleshooting Step 2 : Reset Your Facebook Application

When you close out of your applications on your iPhone, you normally just click on the close button at the bottom of your phone. This closes the app out but it doesn’t actually close it completely. The app is only suspended and still in your phone memory. You’ll need to do a complete reset or close-out of your application.

Double tap your menu button at the bottom of your phone to bring up a list of open/suspended apps:

Press on the Facebook icon and hold the icon until you get a shaking application image with a red “X” hanging off of it:

If your Safari/Internet wasn’t working on your iPhone just find your Safari icon and do the same.

Open the application up again and it should start working again.

If these steps didn’t work try a hard reset on your iPhone:

Hold down your home button and the button on the upper right hand corner of your phone.

I hope this article helped you with your iPhone problems and I’m sure at least one of these steps should have worked for you!

With all the hype out now on Facebook video calling, people are trying every way they can to get the new video chat feature up and running.

One major problem though, Facebook video calling doesn’t work in the Opera browser.

The only browsers that Facebook specified were compatible with Facebook video calling are Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

However, if it were up to me, I would have excluded Internet Explorer as well.

So now the question I have is, why was Opera excluded from Facebook’s list for being compatible with Facebook video calling?

As you probably know by now, Facebook has integrated Skype into the Facebook chat platform so that you can now video chat (or video call) your friends.

Getting setup for Facebook video calling is super easy if you are using the following browsers:

Firefox

Chrome

Internet Explorer

Safari

Sorry Opera users, Facebook / Skype video calling is not supported (yet anyways…).

Here’s how to set up Facebook / Skype video calling and video chat in three easy steps, plus one additional step that I’ve added which I think makes it easier.

You will be asked to complete the setup the first time you try to call a friend, or the first time a friend tries to call you. To call a friend, click the video icon at the top of your chat window.

Simply click the “Set Up” button and follow the instructions for how to set up video calling on your browser.

Once you’ve successfully completed the setup, the call you’ve started with your friend should connect automatically. If it doesn’t, you can call again by clicking the video icon at the top of your chat window.

Or (and here’s my added step), simply click the Facebook video calling link below:

Get started with Facebook video calling

And that’s it… everything else seems pretty seemless and easy to use.

Let us know in the comments below about your experience with the new Facebook video calling with Facebook and Skype.

The New York Post has joined a growing number of publishers who are forcing readers to pay to download their app version of their publications, shutting the door to free access on certain devices like the iPad.

Today it was discovered that when you visit The New York Post with the Safari browser via the iPad, you get the following landing page:

Subscriptions through the app run $6.99 per month, $39.99 for six months or $79.99 for the year, with no option for single-issue digital purchases.

A number of major publications are now going this route of paid access to their content. Conde Nast has taken nearly all of their publications to a “pay for app” access model via the iPad with publications such as GQ, Wired, and The New Yorker.

I’m of the opinion that the “pay wall” for content access is not something that will be sustainable for the longer term with these publishers. It seems there are far too many publications out there that are offering their content for free, which gives readers other options, as opposed to having to pay for content.

People come to the web for free content, for the most part – at least that’s the way I see it.

What do you think about the “pay wall” that publishers are creating, forcing readers to pay for apps to access content?

As a blogger, I obviously spend a lot of time in front of my computer. Doing things like writing new articles, tweeking websites and other web projects, and providing consulting to others has caused me to use multiple browsers.

I use multiple browsers primarily because I want to see that the CSS styles I change are loading properly in the different browsers.

So this morning, my eyes were opened to a scary reality.

I realized I know use 6 different browsers and 2 different operating systems.

My list of browsers:

Chrome – which I use about 70% of the time simply because it’s super fast.

Firefox – I use about 25% of the time, primarily for checking Google Pagerank, SEO variables, and mostly for the Firebug addon (a must have for site design and hacking)

Safari – falls in the 5% of the time somewhere and I use primarily to check how changes look

Internet Explorer – again, within the 5% piece of the pie and I use for things like access wireless routers (wireless networks) and also to see how site changes look in IE. To my unending confusion, Internet Explorer is the most used browser in the world, yet every time I open it I’m painfully reminded of why I absolutely can’t stand IE.

Opera – I actually just started using Opera on my desktop not too long ago, and again I primarily check website changes and configuration. After all, Opera does now have 150 million users worldwide.

RockMelt – now RockMelt is something I just got an invite to install last week. It is basically a mashup of Google Chrome and Facebook… no lie! The only problem I have with RockMelt so far is when I have the sidebars (Facebook widgets) enabled, the style sheet doesn’t adapt and my text box in my WordPress blog overruns onto the sidebars – something that is very frustrating.

My list of operating systems:

Windows XP – I use Windows XP most of the time primarily because I do not have a MAC.

Mac OS X – even though I don’t personally own a Mac, I use a lot of Mac’s throughout the week. I do IT, live streaming, and editing (Final Cut Pro is amazing…) work at my church and help other people out on their Mac’s, so I get a lot of exposure to Mac OS X. What I love more than anything is when adding Fusion or Parallels to a Mac which in essence converts you Mac into a PC – ironic huh?

Linux – the Linux version I use, and have ever used is Ubuntu. I use Ubuntu mostly on my laptop and primarily just to try to learn more about the Linus environment.

So there is it… pretty scary huh?

I know, I just realized it this morning myself.

6 browsers and 3 operating systems – welcome to my world.

How about you?

Tell me about your world of browsers and operating systems.

Is their one particular platform that you use all the time?

Do you split your time between other platforms?

Anxious to read your responses.

You see the gray looking “Facebook” button? I was able to drag it to my homepage button in my browser bar, and it set Facebook as my homepage.

Setting Facebook as your homepage makes sense actually since more than likely, it’s the first place you go when you open your web browser.

And I would say that setting Facebook as your homepage will become even more popular as the new Facebook messaging service is released.

So how many of you already have Facebook set as your homepage?

Apple has just released their newest update for their iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) called 4.2. The features in the 4.2 update are multitasking, folders and Game Center. Another feature with the newest update is the “Find My Phone” feature that allows you to find your lost iPhone or iPad and even shoot a message to the device. Your device will show up on a map giving you the exact location.

With “Find My Phone” you can lock your device remotely and even completely erase your device.

The “Find My Phone” feature is now free with all MobileMe users.

Here’s the complete news release from Apple:

CUPERTINO, California—November 22, 2010—Apple® today announced that iOS 4.2, the latest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, is available today for download for iPad, iPhone® and iPod touch®. iOS 4.2 brings over 100 new features from iOS 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 to iPad including Multitasking, Folders, Unified Inbox, Game Center, AirPlay® and AirPrint.

“iOS 4.2 makes the iPad a completely new product, just in time for the holiday season,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Once again, the iPad with iOS 4.2 will define the target that other tablets will aspire to, but very few, if any, will ever be able to hit.”

iPad users can now run their favorite apps and switch between them instantly, while preserving iPad’s legendary battery life. Users can organize their apps with drag-and-drop simplicity using Folders, and Mail now features a Unified Inbox, fast inbox switching and a threaded message view.

Game Center allows iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users to challenge and play friends or be matched automatically with new opponents, showcase their scores and achievements, and discover new games their friends are playing.

AirPlay is a new feature for streaming music, video and photos wirelessly from iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to Apple TV®, transforming Apple TV into a great accessory for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. iOS users also will be able to use AirPort Express® and AirPlay to stream wirelessly to any stereo or powered speakers, or directly to AirPlay-enabled speakers coming to market in the months ahead.

AirPrint is a next-generation Wi-Fi print architecture that dramatically simplifies printing by completely eliminating printer drivers. A selection of AirPrint enabled printers including the HP Photosmart, HP LaserJet Pro and HP Officejet will be the first to support printing direct from iOS devices. iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can simply tap to print their documents or photos wirelessly to any printer that supports AirPrint.

The Find My iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch) feature is now free to use without a MobileMe℠ subscription and helps you locate your missing device.* The Find My iPhone app is a free download on the App Store℠ and lets users easily locate a missing device on a map and have it display a message or play a sound. Users can even remotely lock or wipe data from a lost device to protect privacy.

Other new features that iOS 4.2 brings to the iPad include: the ability to rent TV episodes directly to iPad using the iTunes® App with a 30 day viewing window and a 48 hour session window once playback is started; the ability to easily find and highlight specific words and phrases on web pages in Safari®; enhanced enterprise support so businesses can take advantage of stronger security features, new device management capabilities and improved enterprise integration; industry-leading accessibility enhancements; and support for 25 additional languages, including Korean, Portuguese and Traditional Chinese.

The revolutionary iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before. You can browse the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read ebooks and much more, using the innovative Multi-Touch user interface. iPad weighs just 1.5 pounds, making it easy to carry and use anywhere.

Today, customers have downloaded more than seven billion apps from the groundbreaking App Store and more than 300,000 apps are available to consumers in 90 countries, with more than 40,000 native iPad apps. Over 125 million iOS users around the world can choose from an incredible range of apps in 20 categories, including games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel.

Availability
The iOS 4.2 update is available today to download to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch by syncing the device with iTunes 10.1. iOS 4.2 is compatible with iPad, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, second and third generation iPod touch (late 2009 models with 32GB or 64GB) and new iPod touch. Some features may not be available on all products. For example, Multitasking requires iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, third generation iPod touch (late 2009 models with 32GB or 64GB) or later.

*The free Find My iPhone feature is available for iPhone 4, iPad or new iPod touch (4th generation).

Really, it’s all about going social when it comes to new gadgets hitting the market. And RIM (Research in Motion, maker of Blackberry) is no exception to this rule.

With the arrival of the new Blackberry Bold 9780 come a new operating system called the Blackberry 6 OS. What’s interesting about Blackberry 6 is that it’s built using Webkit. And hey… guess what other mobile OS is built upon Webkit? You guessed it – Safari – Apple’s OS for the iPhone.

So Blackberry hasn’t created anything new out of thin air, but it (Blackberry) is starting to see the trend toward “social” via mobile devices and are upgrading their OS accordingly.

Read more about the Blackberry 6 operating system and Blackberry’s new 9780 smartphone here.

The official Blackberry blog has a new article written by the senior product manager responsible for browser development on BlackBerry 6.

The new Blackberry 6 web browser is built up the open source WebKit platform. This is the same platform that Apple uses to build the Safari browser. So the new web browser experience should be dramatically enhanced on the new Blackberry 6 enabled devices.

Blackberry 6 web browser is designed to streamline processes that otherwise require multiple steps on a standard desktop browser.

According to the Blackberry 6 web development team, “unlike the desktop experience in which browsing sessions are usually less frequent but fairly long in duration, mobile browsing sessions are frequent, short, and focused. In most instances, users open their browser with a specific site in mind; therefore, enabling quick access to that site is critical. In BlackBerry 6, we have streamlined the BlackBerry Browser start page and implemented a single URL and search entry box to make sure users can get to websites quickly.”

The newest jailbreak for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and now the iPad, are available and compatible with iPhone OS 3.1.2, iOS 4.0.1, and pretty much every other Apple mobile OS in existence.

A couple of points about this new jailbreak that makes it more interesting than say past jailbreaks is that:

1) Jailbreaking is now legal

2) The new jailbreak is available 100% via the web

Previous jailbreak releases required you to download an app from your Mac or PC. But this newest jailbreak comes directly from the web!

To start jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, simply point your mobile Safari browser to:

http://jailbreakme.com

After you jailbreak your device, let us know how it goes in the comments below!

Most people don’t realize this – at least it’s not widely discussed anyway – but Apple actually has an open source web browser platform called Web Kit.

Web Kit is “an open source web browser engine. WebKit is also the name of the Mac OS X system framework version of the engine that’s used by Safari, Dashboard, Mail, and many other OS X applications. WebKit’s HTML and JavaScript code began as a branch of the KHTML and KJS libraries from KDE. This website is also the home of S60’s S60 WebKit development.”

According to Steve Jobs, Web Kit is the predominant web browsing platform for mobile web browsers. This is primarily because Web Kit is the open source platform that powers the Safari mobile web browsers of the iPhone and now the iPhone (and the iPod Touch too).

It’s interesting how you don’t ever hear too much about Web Kit. In fact, I would say that there is more discussion about how “closed source” Apple is, and the perception that Apple is adverse to open source projects. Yet with Web Kit, and fully open source web browsing platform, Apple is quietly leading the way in the mobile web browser war.

What do you think?

I do not, by any means, profess to know a lot about Web Kit. But I (and the readers here at Social Media SEO) would be interested to read more insight from those who are knowledgeable about Web Kit.

I didn’t realize this, but Europeans apparently have been stuck using Internet Explorer as their main browser for Internet access. Wow, this made me realize (and thankful) for how fortunate I am living here in the United States where I can freely chose my own browser!

And yes, let me assure you that my first browser of choice is not Internet Explorer. I would say that I use Firefox moreso for optimization and development purposes, and I use Chrome for pure browsing speed!

I probably, if stats could speak, use Chrome more than any other browser

Google’s European Public Policy Blog today announced that the European Union might soon be allowing over 100 million Internet users to chose their own browser.

Can you image being forced to use only Internet Explorer? What a terrible world that must be! The poor Europeans must be continually bogged down with viruses, crammed cache’s, and stalling browsers on a regular basis.

Here’s more from Google’s European Public Policy Blog:

“The European Commission today announced an important decision designed to inject more competition into the crucial market for Internet browsers. Under the Commission decision, more than 100 million Europeans will soon receive an opportunity to download a new browser. On both new and old computers that run Internet Explorer, a ballot screen will pop up on their computers displaying icons of the major browser makers and allowing them to choose among them with a simple click.”

Of course, Google is seriously going to start ramping up the education initiative to promote the lighting fast Google Chrome browser. I personally believe that Chrome is, without a doubt, the fast browser available. Especially if you’re a very predictable browser – meaning, you visit a narrow range of websites each day.

The cool thing about Chrome is that it will start cacheing these sites for you, and when you click to open them, it will be near instantaneous load time.

Stay tuned as I will definitely be tracking how the new browser war will unfold in the European Union. Not sure who will win (probably Google), but I can definitely predict right now it WON’T be Internet Explorer!

Here’s my frustration – and it’s really isolated to 2 specific factors:

1) In Firefox 3.5 (and above), Chrome, and Safari, my “BlogStats in W3 Counter” window in my Worpdress dashboard will not let me log in and view the graph. In all 3 browsers, whenever I login to W3, and I think click “dashboard” in WordPress, my W3 turns into another login screen.

Now, in any version of Firefox less than 3.5 (like 3.0.14 which I’m now using), it works perfect every time.

2) When I update a web page with a new image – for example if I’m customizing a client’s Facebook Fan Page with images – and when I save my changes, in all 3 browsers, my changes are not reflected. I have to go in (the same for all 3 browsers), clear my cache, hit “Ctrl + R” to do a hard refresh, and then I see my changes.

So after a day or so of “once again” trying to see if Firefox has worked out the bugs in 3.5 versions, I’m “once again” downgrading to a 3.0 version.

Ok – now that I’m done venting, here’s what I think it happening. And if any developers who are part of Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari communities are here reading this, I would be so grateful to hear your comments, responses, and / or feedback as to what’s really happening and what I can do to fix these issues.

I think what’s happening is that with Firefox 3.5, Chrome, and Safari, they are so optimized to render flash – and a lot of it – that the cache is not clearing continuously and / or properly.

Since changes aren’t being reflected after publishing AND when I’m using one of these 3 browsers, that tells me there is a cache issue. And from that I can only assume that it’s because these new browsers are in a race to see who can render flash more efficiently.

So there it is – my frustrations on these new, super fast browsers, and why I’ve ultimately downgraded back to an equally super fast Firefox 3.0.14 (September 2009 version I believe).

And for experimental purposes only, will I go back to see if any improvements have been made to Firefox 3.5 or above, Google Chrome, and Safari.

This is what TechCrunch said in there article:

“There are two ways to get Google Wave to work on your iPhone. The first way is to simply go to wave.google.com in mobile Safari on your iPhone. It warns you that you are not using a browser supported during the preview, but if you click through, it works pretty well.”

So as an iPhone owner, I was pretty excited about this, until I opened by Safari browser, typed in wave.google.com” and got the following screen (which is the same I get on my desktop when I try to login):

So if anyone has any insight into why I can’t access Google Wave on my iPhone, even though TechCrunch is saying it’s possible – I would greatly appreciate the help.

Perhaps it’s because I have the 1st generation version from about 2 years ago – not sure though.

“An error occurred while registering your site”

This happened to one of our readers, and here’s how we resolved the Facebook Connect Playground error:

For this error to get resolved, you must clear the cache of your browser so that no pre-disposed form data is present. Depending on your browser (you can reply and let me know if you need help) will depend on exactly how you go about doing this.

I’ve written a “how to” for clearing cache on Firefox here >> .

Otherwise, for Internet Explorer go to “tools > internet options > click delete in browsing history > then select all check boxes”

For Safari go to “the circle settings icon in the upper right hand corner > click “reset Safari” > select all checked boxes”

For Chrome “click the wrench icon in the upper right hand corner > click on “clear browsing data” > clear all history

For all of the options above, you’ll probably have to re-login to everything, but this should clear out all the browsing cache.

And then go back and retry registering your site at Facebook Connect Playground >>

What impresses me most is the Nokia N900 has a Mozilla browser with full flash support – and the iPhone does not. If I’m wrong about this, please let me know and give me a link that proves otherwise. But as far as I know, the iPhone Safari browser does not yet support flash.

I’m particularly interested in flash supported browsers on a mobile device because I could then check my traffic stats on the phone.

If you try to go to Google Analytics on the iPhone, or try looking at your W3Counter in WordPress on your iPhone, the content won’t display because of the lack of flash support.

I can’t say for sure if this would actually be enough to draw me away fromt he iPhone, but it sure does catch my attention and makes me think about it.

Here are the features that MobileCrunch highlighted in their article:

32 GB onboard storage, expandable up to 48 with microSD.

GPS/A-GPS

FM Transmitter

1320 mAh battery

TV-out

Bluetooth

5 megapixel

WiFi

900/1700/2100MHz UMTS/HSPA

5 Megapixel camera w/ Carl Zeiss lens

Mozilla browser w/ full Flash support

And also from their article:

Of course, something else worth mentioning here is that it’s running Maemo 5, the latest build of Nokia’s Linux-based operating system. While Nokia isn’t spilling too much on Maemo 5, this nascent OS was given a fairly thorough run through a few days ago.

So am I right about the iPhone not supporting flash? I Google’d it before writing this just to make sure, and I couldn’t find anything legitimately showing me otherwise.

You’ll also notice that the ship date is August 28th. This means they are taking pre-orders for the new Snow Leopard OS X.

As Apple puts it:

Upgrade from Mac OS X Leopard with Snow Leopard, a simpler, more powerful, and more refined version of Mac OS X.
What’s interesting to me is the Microsoft Exchange Server support.

We have yet to see a truly efficient to merge Macs with Windows based software, other than complete creating 2 partitions and making your Mac part Windows (PC) and part Mac.

Here are some more features being delivered by the Mac OS X Leapord with Snow Leapord:

True 64-bit support, faster operation (especially when it comes to shutting down, waking up, and Time Machine backup), a completely rewritten, faster Finder, new look and several new features for Exposé and Stacks, QuickTime X, support for Microsoft Exchange, Safari 4, and an improved iChat. For a full list, check Apple’s official site.

*** UPDATE SINCE 11/09 ***

Since the Facebook iPhone App has been released, I’ve written a new article on how to update / manage Facebook Fan Pages from your iPhone – it’s now super easy to do!

READ THE NEW UPDATED ARTICLE HERE

—-

Old article below:

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately from people who can’t seem to get to their Facebook Fan pages from the iPhone.

Let me first tell you that once the new Facebook 3.0 iPhone App comes out (which should be any day now), it will be the easiest way to get to your Facebook Fan Page from the iPhone. Click the link above to read more about the Facebook 3.0 app, and also read some great write ups about it on TechCrunch here and here.

But until the Facebook 3.0 iPhone App is approved by Apple and released, follow these steps below:

1) Open your Safari browser on the iPhone

2) Now go to your Facebook Fan Page on your desktop / laptop computer and open your Facebook Fan Page. I’ve found that one of the fastest ways to get to my Fan Page is to click on “Profile” in the upper left hand corner of the screen once you login to Facebook, then after clicking “Profile”, find your “Info” tab and click that, then scroll down and you should see a list of all the pages you either administer or have joined. Be aware that only 5 Fan Pages show here, so you might need to click “see all” which is a link you’ll see if you have more than 5 Facebook Fan Pages. Alternatively, once you get to your Facebook Fan Page on your desktop / laptop, you can set the page as a bookmark in your browser.

3) Now we need to open your Facebook Fan Page on your iPhone, so you can either copy, paste, and email yourself the URL to your Fan Page and then go to your iPhone, open that email and click the link. Or, go to your iPhone’s Safari web browser that you opened and type in the whole URL of your Facebook Fan Page. If you type it in, just be patient and make sure you get all the letters and numbers so your Page opens properly. I recommend just emailing yourself the URL of your Fan Page and then opening that on your iPhone.

4) Now that we have your Facebook Fan Page open on your iPhone, look at the bottom of the screen and find the plus sign “+”. Click that plus sign and you’ll be given 3 options (4 if you count “cancel”). You should see “Add Bookmark”, “Add to Home Screen”, “Mail Link to this Page”.

Selecting “Add Bookmark” will add a link to your iPhone’s bookmark list. Your bookmarks are found by, when you have your Safari browser open, look on the bottom of your screen and you’ll see an icon that looks like a book – that’s your bookmarks. And if you select “Add Bookmark”, this is where you will find your Facebook Fan Page for easy retrieval. Just make sure when you select “Add Bookmark”, you give it a name that’s easy for you to recognize.

Selecting “Add to Home Screen”. This is the method I use, and the one I recommend. When you select “Add to Home Screen”, you are adding your Facebook Fan Page as a new square app bottom on your iPhone’s dashboard – the dashboard is where all those square buttons (apps) are on the homescreen of your iPhone.

So “Add to Home Screen” will add your Facebook Fan Page to your home screen as a square button.

When you select “Add to Home Screen”, you’ll be given an option to rename your button – just use one word here because you are limited on space on the home screen for your buttons, and then just click “save”.

You will now have a square app button on your home screen that when you tap it, will open your Facebook Fan Page.

** Side Note: I’ve mentioned before that updating your Facebook Fan Page from your iPhone seems to have some kinks / limitations. For example, when I update my Fan Page from my iPhone, the update makes it to the Fan Page just fine, but the message does not broadcast out to all of the fans of my page – which is what you need it to do and what it does do when you update your Fan Page from your desktop or laptop. So hopefully this issue will be resolved as well when the Facebook 3.0 iPhone App is released – as I’m sure it will be…

Facebook 3.0 iPhone App

You need to stay tuned here on my blog because like I mentioned initially, once the new Facebook 3.0 iPhone App comes out, it will then be the easiest way to get to your Fan Page.

This is because the home screen of the Facebook 3.0 iPhone App will have both a “Profile” button and a “Fan Page” button (see image below). Once you set your preferred Facebook Fan Page to the app, then you’ll just open the app and click that buttton.

Finally, if you have any questions about this process, just add it to the comments below and I’ll be more than happy to answer as many as I can!

Here’s a screen shot of the new Facebook 3.0 iPhone App:

Since Facebook is apparently Twitter’s main competitor, let me jump over to Facebook real quick and see how that’s working – I’ll be right back.

Ok – I’m back (exactly 12 seconds later) and Facebook is 100%.

Hmmm… seems like a massive migration is about to occur from Twitter to Facebook.

But what I love about Twitter (for now anyway) is that they will be back up and everyone will flock back over to them.

I’m just wondering how long that cycle of madness will continue on though.
