Twitter Local Trends Is Now Live {List of Cities}

I was pleasantly surprised – and just outright excited – this morning when I logged into Twitter and saw that Twitter Local Trends was now available on my Twitter profile.  This feature was launched by Twitter about a week or so ago, but only to select Twitter users (I wasn’t one of the select…) in order to beta test the new system.

But today I see it live in my Twitter profile, and I actually now see that Twitter announced the full release yesterday.

Here’s more from the official Twitter announcement yesterday:

“As Twitter evolves, and more people share what’s happening in their own world, we want to provide another way for people to discover topics that may be relevant to them. Last week we began to slowly roll out a new feature called Local Trends to expose what people are talking about on the state and city level, and today we’ve fully launched so everyone can use it.”

As of right now, the following US cities are available in Twitter local trends:

  • Atlanta
  • Baltimore
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Dallas-Ft. Worth
  • Houston
  • London
  • Los Angeles
  • New York City
  • Philadelphia
  • San Antonio
  • San Francisco
  • Seattle
  • São Paulo
  • Washington, D.C.

And the following countries:

  • Worldwide
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Ireland
  • Mexico
  • United Kingdom
  • United States
