For some reason, CBS decided to do some coverage on the Google Doodles – the custom Google logo designs that Google creates to celebrate birthdays, special events, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
Here’s what CBS had to say about Google Doodles:
One of the most identifiable logos in the world, that of the Internet search engine Google, gets a makeover far more frequently than most corporate brands do. But it’s not to update a company’s image for a fickle audience; instead it’s to tickle the audience’s funnybone. Visitors to the site on certain days may have found illustrations celebrating the Large Hadron Collidor (Sept. 10, 2008), the laser (May 16, 2008), and Lego bricks (Jan. 28, 2008).
You can follow along with Google Doodles at their Google Doodle page.
Google is creating new logos (Doodles) quite frequently, but here in the US you only see a small sampling of the logos.
Google is updating their Google logos throughout the world on a continual basis. Since Google has many different homepages in just as many languages, these Google Doodles are all customized to their specific native language and country, and the events that are happening in their culture.
Here at Social Media SEO, I cover a lot of the custom Google Doodles that appear on the United States homepage for Google.
