I wrote earlier about how Steam announced their new “Steam for Mac” version of their online video games. But at the time of the writing, Steam for Mac was only a news release and wasn’t yet live on their website.
Well now you can go to the Steam website and see that Stream for Mac is officially launched.
Here is Steam’s official news release on the MAC launch:
Steam is now available for the Mac. Read what the press has to say, and what other gamers are saying. Or just download Steam now.
Steam has been a service exclusively for PC users since we launched it in 2004. For the first time we and our partners are bringing it to another platform. It’s been a ton of work, but the Mac is great for the same reason the PC is great – they are both open systems that let gamers and game developers be as close as possible.
So check it out. If you have a Mac and are new to Steam, welcome! If you’ve been with us since the beginning, borrow a Mac and log into your Steam account and jump into a game. And for everybody, Portal is free from today until the 24th.
So head on over the Steam.com, and check out all the games that you can purchase and download instantly for your MAC.
What do you think?
Let us know what you think about the new Stream for Mac?

I can't get on steam at all. every time i load it it says :Steam need to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again. This is annoying.
I've got the same problem
go to "USER"
then LIBARY
then APPLICATION SUPPORT
and delete steam then reopen VALVE
fixed
Only People who have the BETA installed can do that, not people without the Beta like me >.>
Try turning off your router for 10s, turn back on, wait for connect to establish, then run Steam again. This worked for me after spending an hour trying other things.
every time i turn it on on stem has to do a 33mb update.
EVERY time! wtf?
