Google is celebrating the 71st anniversary of The Wizard of Oz with a ‘Wizard of Oz’ Google Doodle logo.
Wow, I can’t believe The Wizard of Oz is now 71 years old. The movie was first produced back in 1939 and starred Judy Garland as Dorothy.
The Google logo is representing a scene from the film where Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion first see the Emerald City, the capital of the Land of Oz.
You can see the word google in the distance, written across the rolling hillside.
The Wizard of Oz is a film based on the children’s novel by L. Frank Baum, and has become an all time favorite movie for both children and adults of all ages.
Finally, the film has been nominated for several Academy Awards including Best Original Song for the feature song Over the Rainbow.
