A round tablet discussion was held earlier this week with U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Ron Kirk with Silicon Valley companies (i.e. Google, Facebook, and other major tech giants) to discuss the impact of online censorship, and how it creates trade barriers for US tech companies.
The biggest issue, of course, is that any online censorship policy enacted by the US can have a direct negative impact on US tech companies. And in fact, any online censorship policy in the US would more than likely create a trade barrier for US tech companies and put them at a direct disadvantage to other tech companies globally.
