T-Mobile G2 won’t have Tethering but could have Wi-fi Calling

According to some leaked internal documents from Tmonews.com.  The T-Mobile G2 could have a Wi-Fi calling option on the handset. Although the Wi-Fi calling on the T-Mobile G2 won’t be the same as on some of T-Mobile’s Blackberry handsets. The T-Mobile G2 will not switch between Wi-Fi calling and the cellular network. So once you’re out of range of a Wi-Fi access’s point the call will drop.  The leaked documents also don’t show that the T-Mobile G2 will have this feature out of the box. Also Wi-Fi calling won’t be available on all android handsets. And that it could come as an over-the-air update to enable the feature.
While you may be able to make calls over Wi-Fi with the T-Mobile G2, you won’t be able to use the handset as a Wi-Fi hotspot or tether with the G2. According to the site T-Mobile is aware that the feature is something that customers want. And the company is working on supporting Wi-Fi hotspot and tethering in the future.  So if you want to use the phone’s data network to connect to the Internet you going to have to hack your T-Mobile G2.
