Earlier today, a tragic event occurred in Los Angeles where the neighbors have reported that masked gunmen broke into the luxury house where the rising rapper Pop Smoke was staying.
Police found about the situation somewhere around 5 AM, and the officers have entered the rapper’s home shortly, only to find Pop Smoke on the floor having gunshot wounds.
As we know, they immediately sent him to the hospital where the doctors were only able to confirm the death.
The killing was done by at least a few people, from which one was confirmed of having a handgun.
Reports inform that the house in Hollywood Hills has probably been targeted along with several other homes in this area, where most residents were musicians.
Teddi Mellencamp and her husband owns the house, who both expressed condolences to the family and friends of the rapper.
As we all know, the 20-years old rapper quickly stormed off with Republic Records after the great success of his first mixtape “Meet the Woo” which had amazing global success and 280 million streamers.
Attack by the assailants took place only days after the mixtape is open for everyone to hear.
Pop Smoke was one of the most talented rappers in his generation in New York, using a style that resembled some previous New York drill legends.
The intense sound he used was firstly developed in Chicago but was quickly accepted in New York and the East Coast.
Pop Smoke had a tough life in Brooklyn at first, since he was connected with certain law breaks in his home city.
Namely, these events followed him ever after while he was forbidden from performing on a few shows in New York for safety reasons.
He was planning to continue the promotion of his new tape next month by going on a state-wide tour starting from Washington DC.
Simply put, the death of Pop Smoke comes at a troublesome time for young rising rappers on the scene.
Many of the younger generation rappers have been either prosecuted for criminal activity or having serious drug problems from which a few have fatally ended.
As the reports state, there is word that Pop Smoke has been associated with a gang in his hometown and we can only guess for the time being if that was what cost him his life.
