Wikipedia Down – Servers Overheat
The free encyclopedia site Wikipedia went offline today due to servers overheating. According to Wikipedia sources, the overheating issue began with their European servers and the failure of cooling mechanisms to kick in. This caused a DNS resolution failure that brought the entire site down.
The problem started at around 11:30am eastern standard time today.
However, you can now visit Wikipedia and everything seems to be back online.
