Twitter is becoming a place where people of influence are able to communicate with the masses very efficiently. Twitter, in my opinion, is more of a crowd sourcing platform than it is a social network. And it’s always been for this reason that I’m sometimes confused when people try to compare Twitter to Facebook. Facebook is clearly a social network – Twitter, not so much.
However, because Twitter has that “crowd sourcing” and broadcast messaging capability, it’s no wonder that world leaders are flocking to Twitter as another way to communicate with their people. The verified “Politics” list created by Twitter is a great example of what I’m talking about here.
Twitter has put together their own collection of Twitter Lists. One of those lists is called the Politics list. This is a collection of world leaders, politicians, and those who hold political power. The list is made up of Prime Ministers, Presidents, and more.
If you are interested in following the political environment throughout the world, this would be a great place to start. Also, if you are just interested in the subject of politics, this is also a very rich resource of content coming straight from the source themselves.
Check out, and follow, the official Politics list here.
