Apple says they are postponing the international launch of iPad by one month until May 10
In a statement that has the international world up on a storm, Apple just announced they will be delaying the international launch of the iPad.
The new international launch for the iPad will now be May 10th, when Apple will also announce pricing for the iPad outside of the United States.
The Economics of the iPad
So why would Apple delay the international shipment of of the iPad?
According to Apple, it was because of the unforeseen success of the iPad in the United States.
Apple says it’s sold more than 500,000 iPads during the first week of the device’s availability; unexpectedly high demand is apparently outpacing supply and will continue to do so for the next several weeks.
Simple supply and demand my friends!
And for sure, Apple was not going to hold back on the volume of sales in the United States just so that the international community can remain on time.
Heck no…
Steve Jobs was an iPad selling machine the weekend that it launched, and the iPad has continued strong sales since.
Sorry international community, you’ll just have to wait a bit longer for to order your iPad.
