Facebook is working on implementing Twitters famous hashtag. This should make Facebook a lot more useful for looking up trends, events, and general tags. I would have thought they would have implemented this a while ago so we’ll see how it unfolds. As far as company branding and commercials go, Twitter is using hashtags to gain popularity while Facebook has lagged behind. The recent introduction to Facebook’s new timeline for brands has helped them a lot so this should give them an edge over Twitter once they have the complete package.
