Is this the first ever multi-image Google logo?
Google doodles are certainly a common thing to see on the front page of Google.com, but today I believe marks the first time a Google logo has multiple (simultaneous) images associated with it.
*** Update since I posted this: Google has done this before, as some people have pointed out in the comments below – anyway, hope you enjoy my article nonetheless and thank you so much for visiting!
**** Second update since I posted this – nevermind my first update because I believe I am correct that this is the first time Google has created a Google logo that you actually click on it and it flips through multiple images (as you click the logo). Read the comments below for more info…
Today’s Google Logo celebrates Hans Christian Andersen’s 205th birthday, and as you click the logo, the image changes to a new design.
This sequence unfolds through 5 consecutive images, all of which highlight a different aspect of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales and stories.
Here’s all 5 of the Hans Christian Andersen Google Logos:
Image 1 (loads when you visit Google.com)
Image 2 (loads after first click on image)
Image 3 (loads after second click on image)
Image 4 (loads after third click on image)
Image 5 (loads after fourth click on image)
And then, after you click the fifth Google logo, you are then taken to the Google search results for “Hans Christian Andersen”.
Pretty cool stuff…

it's really cool, but not the first time. they usually have multi-logos on holidays (usually on christmas or in the days leading up to it.).
Shay is right.
on halloween they had a multi image logo of candies being unwrapped with each consecutive click
this is interesting
@^ This is the first time they have multi image where you click to see more images.
Well to my knowledge…
hi Ryan – thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your comment!
wow URIEL – you are skilled at visiting people's blogs and being rude, obnoxious, and immature.
You should proud my friend! Great job!
Wow I think it's really cool!! I loved the St.Patrick's Day one too.
Also, ok so I admit it, I didn't get the Topeka joke.
My question is how did you become the first result on google for this?
What I want to know is if anyone can name each of the stories depicted in the 5 different logos…
I think Thumbelina is the first one (?)
yeah for grammatical errors! boo for talk shii to robert when he's just trying to blog. he needs a resume booster!
What's the point of even writing an article about this, anyway?
some people are fascinated by everything that Google does – especially with their logos and home page!
hey uriel i think you need to apologize to roberto
GO URIEL!!!!
yeah! Go URIEL !!
lol sounds like id stab uriel if i was high
The third is Matchstick girl
Perhaps so.
All I can say is I am happy to see that Hans Christian Andersen is remembered in such a googley way. I loved reading his fairy tales and appreciate that he is celebrated on such a milestone with beautiful imagery. THANK YOU GOOGLE for the OODLES of DOODLES!!! :)
hey the hell do you care uriel? you and rob should go for some tea and suck each others dizzles
**Andersen..oopsie
Though looking closer at them to make sense of them they may all be Thunbelina. The girl is really small in all of them. Possibly they are using a Thumbelina character to represent several stories and if so I would say the second could be little mermaid.
Whoa, can you write a little less, Scottster? Yours is the comment, not the blog.
Very cool. Fun to look at.
well, that would get us nowhere but 7th circle.
and you're just jealous, huh, that you can't compose eloquent comments like u-money and i can.
Love Love Google, I am frightened to see Goolgle is still Topeka this morning. Glad to see Google now is Google. the images are so cute.
I love the Goggle doodles but they need to have on on National Pancake Day or International Waffle day! Mmm pancakes, Mmm waffles.
thanks, scottser, for the fun link and info.
Awww… You're VERY welcome 'Lucy'! Feel free to find me anytime you want an intelligent conversation and someone fun to converse with!
Scottster~
dante the problem is that you're probably under u-money taking it and i actually am impressed you knew how to spell 'eloquent', props for that bro.
and fix your last name.
I am pretty sure that the logos actually all depict a different scene from "Thumbelina": The first logo is when she is "born" from the flower; the second is when the toad takes her away to marry his son; the third is the winter scene after she escapes from the toad, right before the field mouse saves her; the fourth scene is when she escapes from marrying the mole on the back of the swallow; and the fifth scene is when she arrives to the land of the flower-fairy people and meets the flower-fairy prince.
*Note: I am just a childhood Hans Christian Anderson/Thumbelina fan who read the story a lot, not some weirdo.
you are all )@#&*@# retarded. who the hell cares about googles images
have you ever heard of transference, huh?
Thank you so much Ava. I can not honestly say I didn't remember the details of the Thumbilina story, though The match Stick girl was one of my favorites and burned into my memory. (As a matter of fact I just told the story to a friend of mine who had never heard it. ) It's nice to know their are other childhood story fans out there. Have a nice night. (Or morning depending on how you look at it.)
hey, uriel, watch this:
i admit, dante and uriel. both of your intellectual capacities are far superior to mine. the literary allusions you make, dante, are unsurpassable. the wit in your comments, uriel, are as sharp as my prick. thank, both of you, for showing me the light.
ps
i can't really spell 'eloquent'. i had to copy and paste it from your comment, dante.
I read it Uriel. It proved you are wrong. You are honestly quite rude and as a girl I wonder if you are just bitter because you are not getting laid. Perhaps if you were you would have something better to do than being rude to strangers. If you are getting laid, I recommend finding someone different, they are obviously not keeping you in a state of bliss that would help with your demeanor.
that was really polite of you, huh. you forgot that you're homophobic and that your probably transferring your own s*xual insecurities onto me, though. but don't worry, we'll cover that in our next therapy session.
dang i didnt know you were into that, dont worry you and your dizzles are safe. i wont bring it up ever again bro.
hey uriel I was wanting to know if I could suck your dizzle, maybe we could meet somewhere, i'm more than willing to travel. I'm really not that great at forming sentences its just the guy on my rear that is telling me what to type.
i want topeka back!!!
you're going to have to look at the constancy in my speaking if you want to know who is the real dante. suspect foul play on huh's part, my friend. suspect it.
this is what i were to say if i was brave enough;
uriel I wanted to know, nay, i plead if you would give me the pleasure of being intimate with you. if it is of any inconvenience to you I am more than willing to do my part and travel. oh and there is a guy rearing me.
wow a simple blog about a logo, turned into a cyber war..fun stuff! and how in tarnation did you become the first result listed for this?!? especially when the topic is false!! wtfffffffff
huh has lost this battle at last, uriel. taste that? it's victory. no need to savor it, my friend. it will come again soon.
and, huh, return to the hell from which you came!
i will now go to sleep and rest the name "dante" forever. look to another name in the future. i will be there, under another name, to back you up. goodnight.
what I'm saying is this is the first logo I've seen where you actually click and it flips through multiple images.
What other logos have done that?
thanks for visiting and commenting – I really appreciate you taking the time out to visit it!
they have done a mutliple pic on halloween
can you give me a specific example?
thanks for visiting and commenting!
Still… it's really kool!!! :D

hi Joe – I think I remember that one – I'll try to dig it up and give a link later today.
thanks for keeping me straight – I appreciate you all visiting and commenting!
I actually started tracking Google Doodles and logos just before the Olympics.
Here's my Google Doodles series:
And here's my 2010 Winter Olympics series:
.
The Olympics series of Google logos was really cool – you can all of them in my series.
Thanks again for visiting!
Hi Annette – i agree – I love it when Google fires up some Google doodles!
Robert have you done the research on the actual drawings? Are they all thumbelina? Are they Thumbelina combined with his other stories?
hi laina – thanks for stopping by and commenting!
hi URIEL – although graphic in language, I appreciate you taking the time to visit and leave your comments!
ive been saving google images for awhile now, here are two examples I found in my collection of consecutive click images, the first being the aforementioned Halloween series, the second being a winter holiday series.

That does sound cool, except I clicked on the first image that popped up and came directly here. Does it not work through iGoogle or something? I have to say, it's much cooler then their eye-rolling Topeka April Fools joke.
Although I thought that was kinda funny.
What are the images from? What do they represent?
My question is, how did you become the first result on google for this?
I think I was the first person in the United States to write a story about the Hans Christian Andersen Google Logos to be completely honest with you.
I saw the Google logo design change at about 2 minutes past midnight – eastern standard time – and then wrote the article.
There were a couple of other articles about it, but they were in a language other than English.
I guess it pays to be the first one to write about a news story!
URIEL – you are an awesome person to encounter at 2am
I find it amusing how your still really polite even while being insulted. Nice blog and it seems to me like you did have your facts straight. Good job.
I'm like the blogger or owner "or something" here dude!
No need to apologize – I appreciate you taking the time to visit and comment..
that is awesome Katie – thanks for sharing the links.
perhaps I should have done some research before posting this
naw just kidding, rob you need to go to sleep man.
flattery will get you nowhere except the 8th circle.
ok, I don't even know how I came across this but cool blog..even though there may have been multi images before as Google logo this Hans Christian Anderson one was really awesome!! the best in fact :-)

Hey everyone. Let me clear up what Robert has yet to make obviously clear. When he says, "First Ever ‘5 Multi Image’ Google Logo" what he means is on the SAME EXACT day, and not in consecutive days. ALL examples given previously were all for a series BUT on different days in sequential time frames such as Dec 21 – Dec 25 totaling 5 different logos. How and why do I know this? I have collected them all, researched and now have an entire library of EVERY single google logo that was used since they started doing this from the get go. I have spoken to THE person who actually creates these for Google. There is a history AND you can find that – where else? RIGHT on google of course! By my research and knowledge this IS the first time they have had more than one image represent the same day for the same country/continent/area. WHAT do I mean by that you ask? Well, I am going to share a link with all of you out there who are google logos/logo in general enthusiast. once you start thumbing through these you will be shocked to find out that google actually creates various logos for different countries for different parts of the world! YEA! Sometimes, for example, China may have a different logo on the same day as us. Or, Korea may not have the thanksgiving logo as they celebrate it on a different day! Customs also play a roll in what goes where. Check it out for yourself, if you have ANY questions please feel free to ask or give me a shout! Now… HERES the link: http://www.google.com/logos
thanks Dree7186 – I appreciate your comments!
wow – seriously? So are you saying I was right – this is the first time Google has created a logo like this?
and better yet, I think I am the first person in the United States to write the article about it…
thanks Josh – I'm not 100% sure my facts are straight – I'm sure the debate will rage on throughout today as to whether this is the first Google logo of its kind or not.
I appreciate you stopping by and commenting
Yeah, it's all Thumbelina. It follows the story straight through.
I love fairy tales. I have books and books of them. Even some of the 'new fairy tales'. And yes, there are some.
I do appreciate you pointing out my grammatical errors, and I went back and fixed them.
Regardless of the fact that I think you're rude – you have still taken time to spend on my blog, comment, etc…
Which I do appreciate and thank you for it.
There are hundreds of millions of sites you could've visited, yet here you are!
And for that I thank you!
congratulations URIEL – you've spent more time on my blog today than anyone else so far (except me of course) – I appreciate you contributing to increasing my eCPM and pushing up my earnings for today. And wow, we are only 3 hours into the day – you are seriously helping me out URIEL!
You and your little buddies, please stay on my blog all day long if you like!
Trust me, I was (and still am) serious when I said "thank you" for visiting and commenting.
Well spoken Tanith! What a beautiful name! Should we know one another? Perhaps we could! Look me up if you care to have some intriguing conversation sometime. Have a great morning dear!
I would love to anger more viewers with my comments. But it's struck midnight here. Robert Holland, you were just another April Fool.
Glad you fixed the UNFOLDS in your article- I'm not as pissed off anymore.
May God bless you in career for not losing character in times of adversity.
