In the first scenario, the first COVID-19 waves are followed by a series of repetitive, smaller waves that occur through the summer. Those waves, which come with a lower number of infections. Also, which will persist over a one- to two-year period, gradually diminishing sometime in 2021.

This news gives hope for the vaccine, which is now undergoing human clinical trials.

However, there is no guarantee that this result will translate to people.

Anyhow, a group of monkeys was exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The six animals that were vaccinated had less of the virus in their lungs and airways.

The trial took place in the US, involving researchers from the US government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) and from the University of Oxford.

Rhesus macaques have similar immune systems to humans.

In addition, the coronavirus vaccine appeared to protect the animals against developing pneumonia.

Promisingly, the animals also did not develop “immune-enhanced disease”. Fergus Walsh, a BBC medical correspondent, described it as a “theoretical risk”. That is when the vaccine triggers a worse response to a disease.

Furthermore, this response was seen in some early animal vaccine trials against SARS – another coronavirus – and proved a stumbling block in developing a vaccine for that disease.

Human trials

Lufthansa Group, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Wizz Air, Air France are just some of the air companies who have been transporting medical equipment.

In Tokyo, All Nippon Airways (ANA) is flying masks, hazmat suits and test kits on its passenger seats and in overhead compartments.

Since April, Delta Airlines has allowed medics to fly free of charge to hard-hit areas of the United States.

Deloitte is assisting in this effort by donating the company’s unused ticket balances to fund the travel. Moreover, the financial consultancy is also donating its unused ticket balances on Southwest Airlines to support medical professionals traveling to treat Covid-19 patients.

In Thailand, medical staff traveling on Bangkok Airways is eligible for a 20% discount off normal airfares.

Repatriation and the future

False claims on flu shots

Experts say the novel coronavirus that causes the disease is unrelated to the flu. Therefore, that data on approved COVID-19 tests does not support the claim.

Dr Rashid Buttar said that if you got a flu shot in the past 10 years, you will test positive for COVID-19.

The claim has been circulating the social media since April.

Studies on flu shot

United States President Donald Trump tweeted that it is good news Boris was released.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that it is excellent news. So, the prime minister was out of intensive care and on the road to recovery. The NHS is there for everyone and stated that there is no doubt that he was given world-class care.

Newly elected Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer also welcomed the good news. Also, he said in his tweet that he hopes it is the beginning of a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, applause rang across the United Kingdom in the third ‘’Clap for Carers’’ event. People showed their appreciation for the NHS staff and other workers on the front line of the pandemic.

Situation in the government

BBC political correspondent Jessica Parker said it was expected that Foreign Secretary Domini Raab would continue to deputise for the prime minister.

• Choose your piece of cotton fabric and wash it.

Fold the fabric in half. Measure and cut out a 9.5×6.5 inch rectangle to create two identically sized layers.

Fold each piece lengthwise, then once more to tuck the rough edges inside. Sew a straight line along the middle.

• Take one of the rectangle layers. Pin down 4 fabric ties, one piece on each corner.
