Recently, people were asked about the one thing that they disliked about their iPhone 5. Many remarked that it was the battery life. It just did not stand up to high performance usage. Owners of the iPhone 5 are probably very aware that the product has numerous issues that were very apparent to the users. Unfortunately, the early adopters were the one’s that were first exposed to the iPhone 5s flaws. We all know those early adopters. Now that the iPhone 5S is no longer a rumor, you are probably wondering what’s new with the new iPhone 5S. The overall design and the 4-inch screen of the new iPhone 5S are the same as the discontinued iPhone 5, but its feature set is absolutely new.

Apart from the black (or apparently space grey) and white variants, the iPhone 5S is now available in a gold and white version as well. Latest news is that a dual-band a/b/g/n 802.11 Wi-Fi is also included the iPhone 5S (and the Bluetooth 4.0 like in the discontinued iPhone 5 is also included).

Processor & Graphics

On board the iPhone 5S is a 64-bit Apple A7 chip with over a billion transistors (so it supports both 32-bit and 64-bit apps). In comparison to the discontinued iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S is twice as fast and almost 56 times faster than the original iPhone. Along with iOS7, a native 64-bit kernel, drivers and libraries are also included in the package. With an OpenGL ES 3.0, the iPhone 5 features twice as fast graphics.

Camera

The camera is an 8 megapixel device with a bigger sensor that features a f/2.2 five element lens designed by Apple. The camera supports 1080p video with 720p 120fps slow motion, along with a burst mode as well. Another new thing that is a part of the camera package of the new iPhone 5S is the long-rumored and much-anticipated dual-flash.

Touch ID

On the iPhone 5S’ home button also has a fingerprint reader, which is certainly something that is new. The sub-epidermal skin layers are scanned by it at 500ppi, which is rather incredible. It also features 360-degree readability, which means you will be able to access your phone at all times without reorienting your finger.

Release Date & Price

So, this just about sums up all what’s new with the new iPhone 5S. The iPhone 5S is scheduled to be released on September 20 and you can start pre-ordering it from September 13. Depending on the storage of the iPhone 5S version you intend to buy, you can expect to set yourself back anywhere from US$749 to US$849.

A 23 year old woman by the name Ma Ailun was electrocuted when she answered a call using her iPhone 5 while it was charging. Ma Ailun who resided in the north western province of china, Xinjiang region, had recently resigned from her job with Southern airlines in china where she was a flight attendant. She is said to be making plans for her wedding when the accident happened. Ma had purchased the phone from an authorized apple store in china in December and was therefore still under the warranty and she is reported to have been using an original charger for the iPhone 5.A sister to Ma Ailun asked for an explanation from Apple when she posted a tweet on Sina’s microblog and cautioned users not to use their mobile phone when charging.

Apple Company expressed their condolences to Ma’s family and stated they would investigate the matter as well as cooperate with authorities in china. They however did not comment on whether Ma’s accident was a special case. It’s not safe to use an electrical device when it is charging, whether it is a mobile phone or shaver, so the Chinese authorities will have to determine whether the device hardware that was passed to them by Ma’s family was faulty before concluding on the cause of the accident. After launching the smartphone iPhone 5 in September, it was highly criticised by 25% of the all the people who gave online comments. Apple may be on the verge of launching iphones of 4.7 inch and 5.7 inch screens respectively. A source in Asia leaked that the production for these iphone was slated for July this year, but the company still was finalizing on the final color since it has high and idealistic standards.

How to Upgrade Your iPhone to IOS 6

1. It’s simple, go to settings > Wi-Fi and make sure you are connected
2. Now that you’re connected go to settings > General > Software Update > then download

iPhone / iPad  Errors After IOS 6 Upgrade?

With all of the hype about a new model, updated screen size, different glass, different buttons, the iPhone 5 didn’t happen as everyone expected.  In fact, Apple release the second model of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S.  Similar to the second unveiling of the iPhone 3g to 3gs but in a grand fashion with tremendous hype. I guess the answer to our article, “Will the iPhone 5 be a flop” was finally answered.

Should I upgrade from my iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S?

There’s a simple answer to this question in my opinion.  After looking at the new features of the phone, I can’t justify myself paying to upgrade from my iPhone 4.  There are updates to the screen resolution, camera, and video, but other than that it’s not very impressive.  Hopefully the next version of the iPhone is actually an iPhone 5 (completely new model)!

Real Wood Back for iPhone 5 Coming Soon

JackBack’s already mentions they’re working on the iPhone 5 wooden case:

Gizmodo reports that the iPhone 5 is just weeks away.  Here at JackBacks we believe that the new design will sport a large 4 in screen, elongated home button, super thin 7mm profile, and teardrop design.  We’re not 100% sure on these design changes but are fairly confident that iPhone 5 will not be Back Replacement friendly.  Not to worry though, We recently got our hands on a few Chinese knock off cases and have been working on full Bamboo Case designs as well as real wood stick on skins.   Looks like October 4th we’ll get the see the real deal.

Pictures of Wooden iPhone 4 Backs

It’s probably safe to say, at this point, that Apple will bring the iPhone 5 to market sometime between the beginning and middle of October, with pre-sales launching on September 30th (wow… that’s actually tomorrow!) – **UPDATE** I did not mean to put the wow… that’s actually tomorrow part – the pre-sale is set to launch September 30th, not tomorrow August 30th :-)

Anyway, news is out today that the iPhone 5 may only have a 3.5 – 3.7 inch display, as opposed to the previous rumored 4.0 – 4.2 inch display.

If this is the case – if the iPhone 5 launches with only a 3.5 – 3.7 inch display we are talking about a device that is, screen size wise, somewhere along the lines of a bottom line smartphone.

Back in 2007 when the iPhone first released, a 3.5 inch screen display was revolutionary and people thought they were looking at a laptop computer.

But now, with smartphones being released that are pushing 4.5 inches, this makes the 3.5 inch iPhone seem…. well… sub par (IMHO).

And especially considering the fact that the iPhone 5 is also suppose to have a thinner iPhone design, the thinner and smaller device will – I believe – turn off a lot of customers.

This won’t be a good thing for Apple in the overall smartphone market space.  And guarantee that if this is the case, if the iPhone 5 releases with a 3.5 – 3.7 inch display, competitors like Samsung and HTC will attack that like sharks who smell blood in the water.

The success of the iPhone has been unmatched in nearly all product releases in history.  And the next iPhone, the iPhone 5, is gearing up to be a smashing hit as well.

Here we go folks, as the iPhone 5 release date fast approaches, more information about what’s ramping up to be the most spectacular iPhone release to date is coming to light.

According to PCWorld, and their confirmed sources, the Apple iPhone 5 will launch on October 7, with preorders starting up on September 30.

So that would give Apple from October 7 through the end of the year to sell an estimated 26 million iPhone 5’s, according to an iPhone 5 sales prediction – something that could easily be achieved given the amount of buzz and media coverage the new iPhone 5 is receiving.

• longer, thinner design overall

A couple of days ago, I wrote about a rumor from Kodawarsian, a Japanese website, that Apple has scheduled a media event for Wednesday, September 7th to announce a new line of iPods and perhaps even the iPhone 5.

But according to LoopInsight.com, these rumors are absolutely not true.  They have their own sources who have confirmed that Apple will not be holding  an event on September 7th, which also means no iPhone 5 announcement on that date.

The one company who is more frustrated than anybody about the seemingly long delay of the iPhone 5 release is Verizon.  Verizon is already experiencing a slow down in iPhone sales.  And recently blamed Apple, and their delay of the next iPhone release, for their lack luster iPhone sales.

It’s almost hard to believe, but here we are in the middle of August and we don’t even have the iPhone 5 available to purchase.  Yet despite the current scenario, it is like that before 2011 comes to an end we will see Apple selling nearly 26 million iPhone 5 devices.

According to MacRumors, the projections for iPhone 5 orders for the 3rd quarter (July, Aug, Sept) have been decreased from 7 million units to 5.5-6 million units while the 4th quarter (Oct, Nov, Dec) orders have been raised from 14 million units to more then 20 million units. Meanwhile, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 unit shipments will decline correspondingly from over 20 million in the 3rd quarter to 8 million in the 4th quarter.

The Apple iPhone 5 is ramping up to be the most successful iPhone launch in history.  And as it typically the case, we can expect to see long lines, fast sell outs of supply, and nothing short of frenzy unfolding as people make the mad dash to pick up the hot new iPhone 5.

Kodawarsian, a Japanese website, is reporting that Apple has scheduled a media event for Wednesday, September 7th to announce a new line of iPods and perhaps (unconfirmed) the long awaited iPhone 5.

Again, nothing is confirmed that the Apple iPhone 5 will be announced at the iPod event in September, but rumors up to this point have suggested that the iPhone 5 will be released around the September – October time frame.

Leaked iPhone 5 image turns out to be fake.

Whew… the excitement and tension building up to the iPhone 5 is getting thick.  Today, someone posted an image on MacRumors who claimed the image was a leaked photo of Apple’s next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5.

The new iPhone, according to the user on MacRumor, was much thinner in design and much faster than the current iPhone 4.

Unfortunately, according to a tweet update here, the image was actually a fake.

More than likely, the fake image is coming straight out of China where there’s been other fake images, and even a fake video (see below), of the Apple iPhone 5.

However, with the iPhone 5 fakes all looking very similar, we have to wonder if someone out there doesn’t actually have a leaked version of the device and is already building the fake models for the iPhone black market in China.

A new report coming out of China today verifies that just one, but two iPhones are set to launch in country sometime October.

The report is claiming to have verified that China Telecom, the world’s largest cellular phone company, has reached a preliminary deal with Apple to begin selling two versions of the iPhone – the new iPhone 5, and a what’s being called a simplified iPhone 4.

What’s a simplified iPhone 4, you ask?

According to the report, a simplified iPhone 4 is a stripped down iPhone that cost less, and allows for more people in China to be able to afford the iPhone.

AllThingsD, who originally broke the story, puts it like this:

“According to Sohu.com, China Telecom will offer two types of iPhone that include the iPhone 5 and a ‘simplified iPhone 4,’” says White. “Essentially, this potential ‘simplified iPhone 4′ would be a more economical version of iPhone to target a broader customer base in developing countries such as China, allowing for an expanded market opportunity.”

The next generation iPhone, the Apple iPhone 5, could very easily launch Apple forward into selling 30 million iPhones in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to BTIG Research analyst Wlater Piecyk.

Apple was initially expected to sell only 21.5 million (yeah, I know… only) in the fourth quarter.  But with Apple breaking records and selling 20.34 iPhones in Q3 2011, the estimate for the fourth quarter needs to be increased.

Apple may sell nearly 10 million iPhones in the U.S. alone, accounting for over 30% of the global iPhone sale volume.

So who’s going to be standing in line waiting for the iPhone 5?

News is out today that the iPhone 5 may be delayed, and we won’t see it hit the market until October – perhaps even late October.

Up until this point, the general consensus for when the new Apple iPhone 5 would be coming to market was sometime in September.

But today, BI is reporting that a solid source has information that the iPhone 5 is being delayed, for reasons unknown, until sometime in October.

This, my friends, will not make Apple investors very happy.

One sure way to gauge the future is to simply look at the past.  According to this AT&T employee, and according to actually unfoldings in the past, AT&T would black out vacation dates around the time the iPhone would be released.

This means, AT&T employees were forbidden to take any vacation days during a new iPhone launch.

September has long been the rumored release date for the Apple iPhone 5.  Except now we have inside leaked information from a direct employee of AT&T.

A former employee of Apple said they received an email asking them to come back to work between August 15 and September 15.

Now it could be argued that Apple is preparing for the returning college students and other back to school shopping.  The time line would certainly imply that.

But I believe Apple is, even more so, looking forward to the release of the iPhone 5 and see a massive amount of pent up demand for the device.

With the iPhone 5 expected to be thinner and lighter, and equipped to handle “wave to pay” technology, we could very well see the most popular iPhone to date.

And with this level of pent up demand, Apple probably can’t hire personnel fast enough for the upcoming iPhone 5 release.

Right on the heels of the news that AT&T is slashing the prices on iPhone 3’s to clear out inventory for the coming iPhone 5, there is now news out that Verizon is following suit.  Except this interesting twist from Verizon Wireless involves the dumping of iPhone 4 accessories and iPhone 4 accessory bundles.

Of course clearing out iPhone inventory – both iPhone 3 and 4 devices and accessories – seems logical in order to make room for the coming iPhone 5. But what’s interesting is when looked at a little deeper, you realize that if Verizon Wireless is dumping iPhone 4 accessories then we must know that the Apple iPhone 5 is going to have a different shape and design.

There’s been talk before about the iPhone 5 being thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4.  And with Verizon Wireless dumping their accessory bundles, this seems even more logical.

If all of the iPhone 5 rumors are true, and the release date is somewhere around September, then you can expect to see a lot more dumping of older iPhone devices and accessories – especially if the iPhone 5’s design is dramatically different than all previous models.

AT&T is slashing the prices of refurbished iPhone 3’s and selling them online for only $9.  It gets better than that actually, you can get slightly blemished refurb’d iPhone 3’s for as low as $.01.  You can definitely expect the iPhone 4 to soon follow suit.  The iPhone 4 is currently selling for only $199 – and a white iPhone 4 to boot.

So what’s all this dumping of iPhone inventory all about anyway?  Well folks, there’s only one logical reason and that’s to make way for the new Apple iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 is expected to hit the shelves at AT&T and Verizon sometime in September, according to most rumors that are out there.  And Apple needs the iPhone 5 to sell, and sell in large scale.

So for now, AT&T is dumping their inventory of what’s now considered old iPhone’s to make way for the new.  Are you going to be picking up with of these dramatically discounted iPhone 3’s?

NASDAQ:AAPL – Apple Closed At All Time High on Friday at 364.92 on news of a whole lineup of new products in the pipeline.

Apple shares (NASDAQ:AAPL) closed on Friday at all time high at $364.92, which was up $7.15 on the day’s trading.

It’s going to be interesting to see where Apple shares open tomorrow morning, especially with the recent news last week about a possible delay of the iPhone 5 due to the processor overheating.

Apple’s stock has been elevated mostly with rumors of a flurry of new products in the pipeline – a new iPhone 5, iPad HD, new MacBook Airs, Mac Mini’s, Mac Pro’s, and even new OS’s with OS X and iOS.

It’s impressive to say the least.  Now Apple just needs to deliver.

Apple is fighting against Android smartphone competitors in more ways than just releasing a new iPhone 5.

Apple is filed a new set of complaints against Android smartphone maker HTC with a U.S. trade panel over unspecified portable electronic devices and software, according to Reuters.

Anything Apple can do to stop the bleeding of the iPhone marketshare…

Here’s the skinny – Apple’s iPhone 5 looks like it could be released on China Mobile which happens to be the world’s largest carrier.

The iPhone 5 rumors in full swing.  And the latest buzz is all about a potential leaked image of the iPhone 5 coming out of China.  The image shows the iPhone 5 prototype running on China Mobile’s 3G TD-SCDMA, with China Mobile’s 3G logo displayed in the top corner, and running an unreleased version (06.10.01) of Apple’s baseband software.

This is a huge – no, monumentally huge – deal for Apple because China Mobile just so happens to be the world’s largest carrier with approximately 611 million subscribers and 68% of the total Chinese market.

This will open up the world of iPhone dominance, and global mobile phone market penetration, to a whole new level.
