										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Steve Jobs had been working with minimalist designer Philippe Starck to build the perfect, streamlined yacht of his dreams.  Now Starck says that Jobs never fully paid for the entire project. The entire cost of this yacht was over $130 million and it&#8217;s around 260 ft long.  When you look at the yacht you can see Steve Jobs minimalistic yacht design mixed with his infamous Apple simplicity.  For navigation, he uses 27 inch Apple monitors, which you would assume, but still an awesome touch.</p>

<p>Details of Jobs&#8217; plans for the yacht first surfaced in Walter Isaacson&#8217;s biography of him, which was released shortly after Jobs passed away last year. &#8220;I know that it’s possible I will die and leave Laurene with a half-built boat,&#8221; Jobs told Isaacson. &#8220;But I have to keep going on it. If I don’t, it’s an admission that I’m about to die.&#8221;</p>

<p>Toward the end of 2010, Steve Jobs action figures were sold through and by a website called M.I.C. Gadget. Apple requested that hte company stopped marketing and selling the Steve Jobs action figure though.  I wonder if the realistic version will get shut down again or not&#8230;</p>

<p>I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.</p>

<p>This time, the fake product that&#8217;s thriving in China is <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/tag/steve-jobs/" target="_blank">Steve Jobs</a>&#8216; (<a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/tag/apple/" target="_blank">Apple</a> CEO) biography. Of course, it&#8217;s not the real Steve Jobs biography, but one something that was probably just thrown together using a combination of other material already printed elsewhere.</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2011/08/19/fake-steve-jobs-biography-already-available-in-china/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">TechCrunch</a>, the fake Steve Jobs biography is “translated” by someone apparently named “John Cage” (presumably there are 4.33 pages blank near the middle), the book has sold 4,000 copies at $10 a pop.</p>
<p>The title of the fake Steve Jobs biography roughly reads, <em>Steve Jobs Gives 11 Advices To Teenager.  </em></p>

<p>Apple&#8217;s earnings were released today and once again, the Cuppertino company has Wall Street in a frenzy over the likes of the iPhone and iPad domination.</p>
<p>Apple CEO Steve Jobs said today, &#8220;we’re thrilled to deliver our best quarter ever, with revenue up 82 percent and profits up 125 percent.&#8221; Continuing with &#8220;right now, we’re very focused and excited about bringing iOS 5 and iCloud to our users this fall.<em>&#8220;</em></p>
<p>Apple earned $7.31 billion in net profit on revenue of $28.57 billion for the June quarter &#8211; both of which are records for Apple.</p>
<p>Trading for <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/tag/apple-shares/" target="_blank">Apple shares</a> was halted during the earning call today.  But then, once trading resumed on Wall Street for the almighty AAPL, the stock price surged 8% and blasted into the $400 range for the first time in the history of the company.</p>

<p>Steve Jobs&#8217; absence is not only affecting his position, influence, and leadership at Apple, but it&#8217;s starting to have wider reaching implications that stretch beyond the iWorld.</p>
<p>Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, holds a seat on the board at Walt Disney.</p>
<p>And his seat is now being contested because, quite simply, he&#8217;s missed too many meetings.</p>

<p>Apple CEO Steve Jobs is apparently continuing to struggle with his issues.</p>
<p>On Monday, Jobs requested of the Apple board of directors, and was granted, a medical leave of absence &#8211; there was no mention of an expected return date.</p>
<p>After the leave of absence was granted, Steve Jobs was quoted as saying:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health,&#8221; Jobs said in an email to Apple employees. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.  I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.&#8221;</p>
<p><span style="font-style: normal;">It is unclear at the moment exactly what the medical issues are that Jobs is facing.</span></em></p>
<p><span style="font-style: normal;">According to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/breaking-steve-jobs-medical-leave-of-absence-2011-1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">BusinessInsider.com</a>, it&#8217;s unclear </span><em>if Jobs&#8217; health situation is related to his liver transplant from 2009, whether his cancer has returned, or if there is a new problem. Long term complications to liver transplants can include skin cancer, lymphoma and a host of infections. We don&#8217;t anticipate Apple to elaborate, as it has not been forthcoming with Jobs&#8217; health details in the past.</em></p>
<p><strong>Steve Jobs left the company on Monday with an email to all of the Apple employees &#8211; here&#8217;s the email:</strong></p>
<p><em>Team,</p>
<p>At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.</p>
<p>I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations. I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.</p>
<p>I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy.</p>

Unfortunately, that email (and the story) turned out to be fake. What&#8217;s interesting, at least in the realm of keeping the white iPhone 4 discussion alive an active on the web, is that in someone posted a comment here that said the following:</p>

The boy’s lie somewhat came true. I’m from Singapore and a close friend of mine works with a Telco company here as an iPhone 4 agent. She posted on her shoutout sometime last week on her FB. Regarding that she’s taking pre-orders for the White iPhone 4 due in December!<br />
I was surprised indeed.</em></p>
<p>So is this true, or just another fabricated white iPhone 4 story that people are throwing around? I would have to believe that if someone in Singapore was in fact taking pre-orders on white iPhone 4&#8217;s, then we&#8217;d hear about from more established resources than a random comment in a blog.</p>

<p><em>“Hello Steve, My name is Nathan, I’m a high school student from San Bernardino. I also happen to be one of your biggest fan and a total Apple fanboy and proud to be I’ve been saving up money to buy thenew iphone 4”.</em></p>
<p><em>“I want the white one but Apple said it won’t be available until later this year. I know you must be asked this question hundreds of times a day but do you think we can expect to get the white iphone for Xmas? I hope you can answer. Thank you Steve.”</em></p>
<p>And in response, Steve Jobs said:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Christmas is later this year.&#8221;</em></p>

<p>If this is true, then the implication is that Apple is dependent upon Facebook for selling the iPhone and iPad.</p>
<p>Take that thought one step further and you have the question of whether Facebook is the reason Apple is successful.</p>

<p>Yesterday news broke that <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/2010/08/14/apple-manager-arrested/" target="_blank"><strong>Paul Shine Devine</strong></a>, a global supply manager at Apple, used his position to obtain confidential information from Apple and then sold that information to suppliers which would helped suppliers negotiate better rates and terms in their contracts with Apple.</p>
<p>According to The Wall Street Journal, the parent of <strong>Kaedar Electronics Co</strong>., one of the six companies named in an indictment of an Apple Inc. employee as having paid kickbacks to land Apple orders, acknowledged Monday that Kaedar did pay brokerage commission to an intermediate trading company for its business with Apple between 2005 and 2008.</p>
<p>The company then proceeded to say they were not sure if the arrested Apple employee is behind the illegal kickbacks and trading.</p>
<p>Stay tuned because I&#8217;m sure this case will start breaking open with more details shortly.</p>

The iPhone 4 is perfect example of this economic phenomena. And nothing exemplifies these unbalanced scales more than the white iPhone 4.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/2010/07/18/white-iphone-4-release-date/" target="_blank"><strong>white iPhone 4 release date</strong></a>, according to Steve Jobs (Apple CEO), is &#8220;sometime at the end of July&#8221;. Well, today is July 21st and there are only 8 days left in the month. So based on what Steve Jobs is saying, the white iPhone 4 should be available within a week &#8211; a week and 1 day at the absolute most.</p>
<p>But this takes us right back to the unbalanced scales of supply and demand regarding the iPhone 4. There is just way too much demand for Apple, and the Apple iPhone suppliers, to keep up with demand.</p>
<p>This problem will only be exasperated when the white iPhone 4 hits the market. There are already supply problems with the white iPhone 4 manufacturers, and the device hasn&#8217;t even hit the shelves yet.</p>
<p>So what can we expect in the coming week when the white iPhone 4 comes available?</p>
<p>I&#8217;m of the opinion that we&#8217;ll see the current supply of the devices almost instantly evaporate and a back order of several weeks will occur.</p>
<p>Then we&#8217;ll be back to square with a massive audience of customers chomping at the bit for the white iPhone 4.</p>
<p>This is a bit of irony for you &#8211; I heard that with the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS that Apple couldn&#8217;t give away the white versions. But now, with the white iPhone 4 having so much attention and pent up demand, and may even exceed the black iPhone 4 sales.</p>

<p>When Steve Jobs have held his special press conference on Friday, the objective was to mitigate the damaging PR that&#8217;s resulted from the iPhone 4 antenna mess. One of the ways Jobs did this was to first talk about how Apple is focused first and foremost on customer satisfaction.</p>
<p>Next, Steve Jobs went into a long dialogue over how the iPhone 4 antenna issues are not really any different than what other mobile devices experience. Blackberry, Nokia, and HTC were some of the mobile devices that were targeted in Steve Jobs presentation and comparison to the iPhone 4 antenna problems.</p>
<p>Well, as can be expected, these mobile companies did not appreciate Steve Jobs making mention of their devices &#8211; especially comparing the iPhone 4 antenna issues with their own technology.</p>
<p>This criticism from Jobs drew out a direct response from HTC&#8217;s Eric Lin, head of Global PR for HTC. When Lin was asked just how many customers have complained about the antenna issue, Lin said, “Approximately .016% of customers,” and noted that “we have had very few complaints about signal or antenna problems on the Eris.”</p>
<p>So Lin was talking specifically about the Droid Eris here, but still .016% is a very small number, especially when compared to the 2% of the 3 million iPhone 4 customers.</p>

<p>Consumer Reports is really starting to frustrate me with their attitude toward the iPhone 4. Even after Steve Jobs said that the <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/2010/07/16/free-iphone-4-bumper-case/" target="_blank"><strong>fix to the iPhone 4 antenna issue</strong></a> is putting a case on the device, and that Apple is &#8220;working their butt off&#8221; to fix the problem, Consumer Reports still says they will not recommend consumers to purchase the device.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m starting to think that Consumer Reports is now playing the <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/2010/07/14/consumer-reports-iphone-4-fix/" target="_blank"><strong>iPhone 4 card</strong></a> simply for the attention and traffic they get &#8211; not because of the validity to their disposition toward the iPhone 4.</p>
<p>The iPhone 4 signal strength is a problem that is occurring on a small percentage of total devices &#8211; much like any mobile device experiences problems with a small percentage of customers.</p>
<p>And now Apple is given away Bumper cases to all iPhone 4 customers thru September 30th, and continuing to work on resolving this issue.</p>
<p>But yet Consumer Reports feels &#8220;obligated&#8221; to protect the greater good of the consumers out there&#8230;</p>

<p>In response to a New York Times article that claimed Apple would have to send out a software update to fix the iPhone 4 antenna and signal problems, Apple&#8217;s own Scott Forstall said the report is &#8220;patently false&#8221;.</p>
<p>If you read <strong>Apple&#8217;s information</strong> about the iPhone 4 antenna, then you&#8217;ll realize that the signal strength problem goes far beyond just the iPhone 4. Other phones have the same issue a different levels and degrees.</p>
<p>So for now, as Steve Jobs said in his press conference today, the <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/2010/07/16/free-iphone-4-bumper-case/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>fix for the iPhone 4 signal strength</strong></a> issue is a free Bumper case &#8211; or some other case that you put on your iPhone 4. <p>Looking at the chart for Apple shares this past reminds me of a roller coaster that I just rode at Hershey Park in PA. Massive ups and downs &#8211; sharp declines followed be even sharper inclines. There is no doubt that Apple shares have had a tumultuous week.</p>
<p>Even so, Apple shares <strong>(NASDAQ:AAPL) </strong>closed the week out down only 3.74% which is not much off the mark of the entire NASDAQ which closed down 3.11%.</p>
<p>Apple had a lot of criticism flying in its face this week over the iPhone 4 antenna and signal strength issues. It got so bad at one point that the Senator from New York, Chuck Schumer, chimed in with his own criticisms of how Apple and Steve Jobs were responding to the issue.</p>

<p>I expect Apple shares to rebound this coming week due to a favorable press conference that Steve Jobs had today with the press. During the press conference, Mr. Jobs discussed the iPhone 4 antenna issues, admitted there were problems, and offered solutions to iPhone 4 customers. Ultimately, he let customers know that Apple is going to do everything they can to ensure that their customer base is 100% satisfied with the iPhone 4. And this message of clarity, direction, and leadership from Steve Jobs will probably allow Apple shares to shed some of the jitters it experienced this past week.</p>
<p>Here is what some analysts have to say right now about Apple shares:</p>
<p><strong>Analysts try and prepare investors for the fallout from today&#8217;s cal</strong>l.</p>
<li>Gene Munster at <em>Piper Jaffray</em> believes that Apple&#8217;s press conference <strong>increases the likelihood of an iPhone 4 modification going forward. This change in manufacturing could disrupt sales in the September quarter, impacting EPS by $0.38. If there is no modification and Apple replaces existing iPhone 4&#8217;s, this would result in a $1 billion one-time charge which he sees as an investment in the brand</strong>. He maintains his Overweight rating.</li>
<li>Shaw Wu at <em>Kaufman Brothers</em> believes that a <strong>full recall is unlikely even though checks indicate the company is exploring hardware and software fixes</strong>. Fortunately, the &#8220;death grip&#8221; appears to impact a small set of users, <strong>meaning financial impact is likely to be immaterial</strong>. Most investors will likely treat it as one-time item anyway. Shaw believes we will look back at this as a minor blip months from now. He maintains his Buy rating.</li>
<li>Mike Abramsky at <em>RBC Capital</em> believes there is <strong>now a higher probability of a repair or recall</strong>. Firstly, a press conference is unprecedented for Apple. Secondly, Apple&#8217;s online store shows iPhone 4 availability now in 3 weeks (from 7-10 days a few days ago) possibly implying a transition in production. He reiterates his Outperform rating.</li>

<p>New York State Senator Charles Schumer has written a &#8220;<em>I am not at all pleased with you, Apple&#8221; </em>letter to Steve Jobs over the way Apple has responded thus far to the <a href="https://socialmediaseo.net/2010/06/24/iphone-4-death-grip/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 4 antenna issue</a>.</p>
<p>Senator Charles Schumer &#8216;expresses concern&#8217; over the whole iPhone 4 reception issue and is less than pleased with the way Apple has responded &#8211; or I should say, the lack of response &#8211; to this issue.</p>
<p>One of the biggest concerns that Senator Schumer expresses in his letter is the fact that Apple has yet to offer a &#8216;free of charge&#8217; fix to the antenna and reception issue for current iPhone 4 owners, and finds it completely unacceptable of Apple to expect customers to have to pay their own money for a fix.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the letter from New York Senator Charles Schumer to Steve Jobs and Apple:</p>
<p><strong>July 15, 2010</strong></p>
<p><strong>Dear Mr. Jobs,</strong></p>
<p>I write to express concern regarding the <a title="Click here to read more posts tagged #receptionproblem" href="https://gizmodo.com/tag/reception-problem" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">reception problem</a> with the Apple iPhone 4. While I commend Apple&#8217;s innovative approach to mobile technology and appreciate its service to millions of iPhone users nationwide, I believe it is incumbent upon Apple to address this flaw in a transparent manner. According to Consumer Reports&#8217; review, released Monday on its website, the iPhone 4&#8217;s signal-strength problem is a hardwire glitch triggered by gripping the device in a particular manner. This finding, according to Consumer Reports, &#8220;call[s] into question&#8221; Apple&#8217;s recent claim that the problem is &#8220;largely an optical illusion caused by faulty software.&#8221; Consumer Reports declined to recommend the iPhone 4 because of this hardware <a title="Click here to read more posts tagged #designflaw" href="https://gizmodo.com/tag/design-flaw" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">design flaw</a>.</p>
<p>Given the discrepancy between Consumer Reports&#8217; explanation of the reception problem and the explanation provided by Apple in its July 2 letter to customers, I am concerned that the nearly two million purchasers of the iPhone 4 may not have complete information about the quality of the product they have purchased. The burden for consumers caused by this glitch, combined with the confusion over its cause and how it will be fixed, has the potential to undermine the many benefits of this innovative device. To address this concern, I ask that Apple provide iPhone 4 customers with a clearly written explanation of the cause of the reception problem and make a public commitment to remedy it free-of-charge. The solutions offered to date by Apple for dealing with the so-called &#8220;death grip&#8221; malfunction-such as holding the device differently, or buying a cover for it-seem to be insufficient. These proposed solutions would unfairly place the burden on consumers for resolving a problem they were not aware of when they purchased their phones.</p>
<p>I also encourage Apple to keep its promise to provide free software updates so that <a href="https://gizmodo.com/this-is-how-much-the-new-iphone-4-signal-bars-have-grow-5587535" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">bars displayed accurately reflect signal strength</a>; I further urge Apple to issue a written explanation of the formula it uses to calculate bar strength, so that consumers can once again trust the product that they have invested in.</p>
<p>I look forward to Apple&#8217;s swift action on this matter, and once again laud Apple for its innovative efforts and service to millions of Americans.</p>

<p>A potentially damaging report has been released by Business Week claiming that Apple, and specifically Steve Jobs himself, knew about the iPhone 4 antenna problems prior to the June 24th release date.</p>
<p>The report is claiming that Apple senior engineer and antenna expert Ruben Caballero informed Steve Jobs about potential antenna reception problems, and that carrier partner of Apple also raised concerns about the antenna and the potential for dropped calls.</p>
<p>Apple has scheduled a press conference to discuss, and hopefully clear up the iPhone 4 antenna problems. People are hoping to hear from Steve Jobs on exactly what happened, and what the resolution will be going forward for those who are struggling with iPhone 4 antenna and connectivity issues.</p>

<p>This loss of signal strength is enough to drop a call and that is a huge no-no.  Apple&#8217;s relunctancy to truely address the issue as well as other problems gives the phone a negative report.</p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t some stoner computer hacker running tests in his basement; this is Consumer Report&#8217;s and when they talk, most people listen.</p>
<p>Steve Jobs&#8217; arrogance has not helped the situation, so look for lawsuits and outcries for recalls to surface soon.  The public has supported you for a long time, Mr. Jobs, please do right by the people.</p>
