What to do if you think you may have Coronavirus

As all of us are aware, we are currently facing one of the biggest threats that humanity has ever encountered – the Coronavirus.

Furthermore, judging by the world meter counter, currently, there is 1,033,478 total number of coronavirus cases, among which 218,864 are recovered and, unfortunately, 54,369 are dead.

As it appears, coronavirus officially called COVID-19 or, previously known as, 2019 novel coronavirus is a virus genetically similar to coronavirus related to the SARS outbreak in 2003.

Let’s check the coronavirus symptoms

According to the WHO, the three core and most common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  1. Fever
  2. Tiredness (including body and the muscles)
  3. Dry cough

Furthermore, some patients experience additional symptoms like:

  • Shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • nasal congestion
  • muscle aches and pains
  • diarrhea

Furthermore, let’s point up that sneezing is an atypical symptom of COVID-19.

Furthermore, let’s look at what you can do if you have the abovementioned symptoms.

Treating the symptoms and further action

So, you feel sick and you are worried that you might have the coronavirus?!

Do not panic, try this:

  1. Treatment

Primarily, there is no specific treatment for coronavirus, so treatment is oriented towards relieving symptoms.

Therefore, the best thing you can do is rest. Try to make sure that you get enough sleep and that you stay well-hydrated.

Moreover, hot drinks like tea or cough syrup may come in handy to handle the cough you experience.

Increased fluid intake is a must – But do not overdo it!

Furthermore, it is recommended to take foods rich in vitamins and fibers – like fruits, vegetables to help your immune system fight the virus.

Finally, you can use medicine to ease the body and muscle pain like paracetamol,
BUT KEEP IN MIND – IBUPROFEN should be avoided! , judging by the WHO.

It is important not to spread the virus to your family, friends and other people!

So, try to follow these directions:                                 

  • Do not use public transportation and don’t go outdoors
  • Stay at home and isolate yourself from other family members
  • Do not rush to the hospital immediately – call your doctor first!
  • Try to be positive, mediate and read/watch inspiring content

Furthermore, while at home make sure to:

  • Wear a facemask if you interact with other residents
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid sharing personal household items
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces every day

Suffice to say, if you follow these advice, you are minimizing the chances to infect other people and you are certainly improving your health by boosting your immune system whether you contracted the coronavirus or not.
