WordPress.com Knocked Offline

WordPress is the world premier blogging system for millions of people.  Although millions of people use the paid version of WordPress, which entails hosting your own WordPress blog, there are certainly more people using the free WordPress blogging platform at WordPress.com.  And yesterday morning, these people experienced a rare, yet temporary outage.Automattic came out with a blog post clearing all the doubts over the problems faced by the service. It was a clear and frank response to the questions posted by their customers and users.

I know this sucked for you guys as much as it did for us — the entire team was on pins and needles trying to get your blogs back as soon as possible. I hope it will be much longer than four years before we face a problem like this again.
