Gmail Phone Calling Will Remain Free Through 2011

Great news for those who have been using Gmail’s phone calling capabilities; free calling has been extended through 2011.

I think Google has always intended for this service to be free, just like every other product they launch (Adwords being the only exception of course), but they make it seem like they are holding back on charging to just create a buzz.

And it’s working, because blogger’s like myself are now writing about it.

Calling in Gmail was launched in August of this year and was declared “free” for all of 2010.  And according to Gmail’s blog postin case you haven’t tried it yet, dialing a phone number works just like a regular phone. Look for “Call phone” at the top of your Gmail chat list and dial a number or enter a contact’s name.
